Equipment such as bulldozers and cranes carry enormous weights. We wonder where all the power of the bulldozer comes from. Heavy weight lifting equipment has a hydraulic system. If we apply pressure on any liquid filled in a cylinder, that pressure spreads all around in the liquid. If five other tubes are connected to this cylinder, the pressure in the cylinder is multiplied by five. This law was discovered by a scientist named Pascal. The cylinders of the hydraulic system used in bulldozers and cranes are filled with oil. The upward pressure of the oil filled in the narrow tube multiplies as it moves into the wide tube. Thus, the bulldozer gets power.
