The longest-leafed palm trees are found in Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, and Angola in West Africa. The leaves of this tree, known as raffia palm, are 3 meters long. So the leaves appear to have sprouted from the ground. There are about 150 thin rows of leaves on either side of the 5 meter long leaf axis. It is about six to seven centimeters long. The upper part of the leaf is green and the lower part is gray and sticky.
The height of the trunk increases as the raffia palm matures. And a flower sits between the leaves. Then an 8 cm long elliptical fruit sits. The fruit has a square pattern on top.
Rafia palm leaves are used in making things like baskets, baskets. The locals also use this leaf to make huts.
