- Bollywood actors are fed up with the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. Goa has been the favorite destination of most of the artists
We have explained the value of peace and health to Bollywood actors. Tired of the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, many artists have set out elsewhere for a life of peace. Goa has been the favorite destination of most of the artists. Talk about rubbing salt in my wounds - d'oh!
Megha Gupta, actor
I shifted to Goa in January last year. But I did not come here to escape the plague but to live here. My career was going well and Mumbai has given me a lot. But there comes a time when you have to retire and focus on your health. You want to spend time reading, writing and doing yoga as well as meditation. You want to get rid of the rush of life. This is what I am doing in Goa and this journey of self-identification is really beautiful. I do things like exercise, trekking here. The epidemic has been a blessing for me.
Asha Gordia, actor and entrepreneur
I came to Goa in March 2015 in search of a home. Finally shifted to Goa in August 2015. Since my husband Brent decided to start a yoga school in Goa, I too decided to shift to Goa. The last two years have been the quietest and happiest of my life. However I still have to travel for work. But since my husband teaches yoga, he stays in Goa forever. Since I have spent 50 years in Mumbai, people here need Miss but now I like Goa. So I don't want to go back to Mumbai anymore.
Tarun Arora, actor
I have been shifting to Goa for the last seven years. But before that I have thoroughly enjoyed the life of the city. Now I need a quiet environment to work creatively. Since Goa is close to Mumbai, I decided to go to Goa. Now I am getting plenty of time in Goa. Here I am getting enough sleep and pleasing food. I have enough time here for activities like gym, football. However the epidemic slowed down the pace of life. But even this time I spent watching movies.
Shweta Salve, actor and restaurateur
Since I have to visit Goa frequently, I bought my first home in Goa in 2013. But I have been living in Goa since 2012 when I was pregnant because I had to give birth in Goa. I started my restaurant here in Morjim. But I haven't quit my job yet. I come to Mumbai whenever there is a project. Since many of my friends have also shifted to Goa, I no longer miss Mumbai. I think it's good to keep a little distance from the film industry so that you understand its value.
Apoorva Asrani, screenwriter and film editor
I shifted to Goa four years ago when my workload was adversely affected. I felt that even the best hospital in Mumbai could not treat me properly. However, a hospital in Mapusa cured me in just three months. That's when I realized that I should live among people where human values are valued. People here have feelings for me. I love the food and the music here. Loma is my favorite. Here I also find time for music class. There seems to be more energy here than in Mumbai. Now I like to stay here.
Nafisa Ali Sodhi, actor
My great-grandmother was from Goa. My family's roots are in Diver. I am experiencing being the happiest person in the country right now. However I love loneliness. After cancer treatment I stay in Goa because I find peace and happiness here. I used to come here often. My dream was to have a small house in Goa. I am happy that this dream has come true. My daughter also has a house in Goa. So I wanted my other children to stay in Goa. I hope one day we will all be in Goa. In Goa I get welcome and security. During the epidemic I used to go for a walk on the beach every day and feed the dogs. When I have work I travel and come back to Goa.
