It was the days of Diwali. In a potter's yard, four Koyas were talking among themselves.

The first potter said, 'I wanted to be a beautiful pot but the potter made me a little potter. Now I will burn somewhere in the corner.'

Another cod said, 'I wanted to be a moot.'

The third cod said, 'I too have bad luck. I wanted to be a money grabber but now I have to knock on someone's door.'

The fourth cod said, 'The shape of our body is not in our hands. But let us give our best in the situation we are in. It is no small matter how many houses we will light up during the festival days.'

Thousands of years ago man had no alternative for light other than sunlight. During that time, the sunset would be dark and people would have to stop all activities or work in the house or outside. Hence man found different ways to get artificial light and lamp was invented. Darkness is necessary for light. So the darker the darkness, the brighter the light. Interwoven with Indian culture since ancient times, the original meaning of the lamp was to shed light in most darkness. But since fire was considered sacred and worshiped with divinity, with the rise of civilization the lamp became an indispensable and important part of the lighting process whose light symbolizes knowledge, happiness, prosperity, energy, health, positivity as well. The invention of the lamp was followed by torches, lanterns, gas lamps and other means of lighting. Years ago, people used to carry lanterns in their hands even when traveling at night.

Some customs or beliefs are woven around the lamp placed in the gokh, osri core, paniyar or threshold by our elders. The dimly lit lamp in the temple niche fills a man with a certain energy. He becomes more devout towards God and often feels gratitude to God for giving human incarnation. Hardly anyone would be unaware of the Puranic mantras saluting such an immortal flame of the lamp. It is written in the Puranas glorifying this flame that...

Good luck and prosperity.

Shatru Buddhivinasahay Dipjyoti Namost..

Deep Jyothith Parabrahm

Deepjyoti Janardhan:

Dipo hartu me papan dipjyoti namostute

Salutations to the auspicious and auspicious lamp, the giver of health and wealth, the destroyer of enemy intelligence. The flame of the lamp is Brahma and God. My salutations to the sin-destroying candle flame. This flame of the lamp teaches us to do good deeds in silence.

A lamp is not lit only by ghee. In the world, there are many lamps of humanity, experience, benevolence, compassion, renunciation or understanding that are constantly burning, which are lighting up many lives. We can call all such tall human beings the lamps of humanity. Meghani gave Ravi Shankar Maharaj the title of 'Mansaina Diwa'. Because Ravi Shankar Maharaj knew how to appreciate the importance of humanity in the life of the criminals of Mahikantha area. After listening to the interesting stories of his experiences from the mouth of Maharaj, Meghani collected them in her novel collection 'Mansaina Diwa'. Kakasaheb Kalelkar has called 'Mansaina Diwa' as a 'valuable document of cultural reform'. Ravi Shankar Maharaj, who was a genius who could see the virtues in others, had the life mantra of 'wearing out and shining'.

There is hardly anyone living in Ahmedabad who Dr. Bharat Bhagat may be unaware of his name and work. Dr. Bharat Bhagat, founder and president of 'Health and Care Foundation', is a Bhagat in true sense, a saint who operates free of charge on children suffering from polio, gives them calipers and makes them walk. He also knows how to give good words, genuine warmth and selfless love to the child patients, which becomes a medicine for the patient. Dr. Bhagat believes that the patient's parents, siblings or guardians should keep the child happy by giving them only love and courage. To others this may seem trivial but to them it is the heart of the treatment.

One wonders why in this day and age it is known who really needs real help or who deserves real sympathy. Where to even find such. So the answer is that a person meets many needy people in his daily life who need your kind words, some love or some help. You don't need to wait for any special occasion or opportunity to light the lamp of philanthropy. Such opportunities are right in front of us. For that one needs true charity and vision. Try giving something unsolicited sometimes. Then look at the happiness on his face. Lamps of supreme contentment will be lit around you. A sister used to give some nuts and cold water to anyone who came to her house with vegetables, clothes or garbage. What a thoughtful thing! "Light must come from within. You cannot ask the darkness to leave; you must turn on the light," says the 19th century Tibetan master, visionary saint and Tibetan lama Sogyal Rinpoche. Well-known ghazal writer Hardwar Goswami says that there is enough oil in the lamp of Parhit that shines naturally from distance...

Amatha Amatha roams the night,

Light a lamp.

chasing the dark,

Light a lamp.

In Madir there is a chandelier of lights,

let the sun shine above,

Moving to the side of a hut,

Light a lamp.

Buddha brought about a great social revolution by opposing the evildoers with spiritual guidance. He has not said much about the existence of God and the soul-God. Instead, Buddha emphasized love, compassion, non-violence and friendship. He also taught the disciples the lesson of the importance of life and said that 'appo dippo bhava' means you are your own lamp. That is, when a person lives with self-understanding, if he burns himself and lights the world, then all the layers of darkness around him will automatically start melting. The moment the lamp inside us lights up becomes eternal. With this in mind, the poet Bhogilal Gandhi writes in his beautiful poem 'Upwasi' that, 'You are the lamp of your heart... Oh brother. Abhana Suraj Chandra and your, big big Tejrayat Atam's lamp to light your lamp, you are all strangers!'

A daughter blessed by God is a light for two families. The cultured daughter unites both the family of Pierre and the in-laws with her understanding, wisdom and virtues, illuminates and gives everyone a warm welcome. Such an understanding of a daughter includes things like being outgoing, accommodating, giving up or being a strong link between all family members. So one of the meanings of Diwa is Kuldeepak which means the son who brings success to the clan. However, today one has to go out with a lamp to find such a son.

Experience is the lamp that illuminates our future. The good events experienced in life have given a great lesson to the elders of the family or any person that how to behave at what time, what decisions to make, where, on whom, how much to trust or not or where in life, how much to spend etc. American attorney, politician and speaker Patrick Henry says that "I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience." Many experiences are like embers that burn a person. Then a person should learn such experiences from the words of the elders. Anger is the greatest enemy of man which extinguishes the lamp of man's intelligence. But the good books that always light our lives, show us the path of truth and guide us are like a constant burning lamp that destroys vices like anger or envy and prevents that burning lamp of intelligence from going out, everyone wants their happiness in this world. There are some special people in this world who do good to others even after harming themselves. The rise of this spirit leads to the progress of the society and the country. Many lamps of humanity were lit in the difficult times of Corona. Corona warriors like doctors, nurses, cleaners, police or social workers kept the lamp of service burning so loyally and selflessly at the risk of their lives that Ramesh Parekh's words saluting the silent service of the lamp are remembered...

You have vowed to conquer the race,

Hey lamp! Last as long as you last!

When you are extinguished, all things are extinguished

Hey lamp! bow to you...

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of the country to shine a light at once in order to overcome the darkness in the form of corona virus, to ignite the welfare light against it and thereby generate inner energy and spiritual divine strength. With a huge response across the country, people united and lit the lamps by turning off all the electricity in their homes and proving the saying 'Sanghe Shakti Yuge Yuge'.
