A few conversations with patients will give an idea of ​​the variety of sleep complaints. When I wake up in the morning, my head feels heavy and I feel restless. Arvindbhai, 40 years old, is suffering from sleep problems. Generally we know that children sleep hours are very long and adults need 7 to 8 hours of sleep.

Sleep is a blessing. But when we violate the normal rules regarding body and mind, sleep and hunger problems arise. Sleep complaints are known as Insomnia in medical language. Insomnia or lack of sleep is not the name of a disease. But any illness related to body or mind is a symptom. Whenever a patient complains about sleep, the first thing to do is to find out the reason for not being able to sleep. The reasons are generally of two types. Any physical or psycho-physiological cause of any body problem or illness causes sleep disturbance. E.g. Pain, when pain occurs in any part of the body, it affects sleep. Apart from this, sleep is lost due to many reasons.

While in mental causes mainly thought disturbs sleep. Sleep does not come easily when the brain is filled with excessive thoughts. We make many efforts to stop the thoughts, reduce them, but sometimes thoughts come against the will. As a result sleep is lost. Besides depression, restlessness, fear, anxiety, etc. It also causes sleep problems.

In general, most sleep problems are due to psychological reasons. Only a few people suffer from physical causes. Whenever sleep problems start, efforts to eliminate them from the beginning can lead to faster sleep. Taking sleeping pills indiscriminately is not advisable at all. Apart from this, taking sleeping pills for a long time without doctor's advice can also cause harm.

Sometimes, if the sleep problem persists for one or two months, the treatment of a psychiatrist becomes necessary. In which a detailed mental examination of the patient is done to determine what is the cause of sleep or which mental illness does not cause sleep. And medicine is given to cure that disease. - As a result sleep starts coming naturally.
