About 12 Arab sanitary napkins are thrown in the country every year as waste. Scientists say the debris causes serious damage to the environment. Scientists have now developed a new technique to prevent this damage from occurring. The underlying sanitary napkin waste can be partially disassembled and environmentally friendly.
This technique has been developed by Padcare Labs in Maharashtra. In it the sanitary napkin is removed from the waste with a machine. However, this machine has not been put on the market at present. This is a new initiative of the Kerala government. Which was introduced at the Women Startup Summit 2019 in Kochi under the Kerala Startup Mission. This technique was introduced by the pad care labs at this summit.
Pad Care Labs has been launched as a startup in Pune under National Chemical Laboratory. The startup has created the world's first machine that separates sanitary pads from waste and disinfects them in an environmentally friendly way.
An estimated 12 billion sanitary pads are thrown into the waste every year from homes across the country. The plastic used in these napkins is not as natural as wasted. It is also dangerous for women who use it in it. This napkin is also dangerous to the environment because it has been lying in the landfill for 800 years. This pad comes in a series of solid wastes. If they are not destroyed properly they can cause HIV, HBV and other illnesses.
According to MHAI estimates, there are 333 million women in India who come monthly. But only 36% of those women use pads. That is, over 12 million women use pads. However, more details are not currently provided. More details will be known only when this start up is put on the market.
