In Hinduism, Yamaraj is considered a god of death. It is mentioned in many ancient texts. Thus no one knows where Yamraj lives, but on earth there is a place where there is a mysterious door. This gate is called 'Yam Gate' which is the entrance to Yamaraj's house. This entrance comes in the path of the holy Kailash mountain. The same Kailash Mountain, whose mystery has not been solved till date. This mountain is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva.
The Yam Dwar is located at a height of about 15,500 feet, 15 kilometers from Darachen, a village in Tibet. This is the primary location of the Kailash mountain range. The people of Tibet call this place 'Chorten Kang Nagyi', which means 'two-legged stupa'.
According to myth, no human being was left alive at night inside the gate. It is said that many such incidents have taken place here, but the cause of his death has not been known to this day. It is also said that no one knows who built it and when. There were many discoveries about its construction, but nothing was known.
It is said that Tibetans pull their own body hair and dedicate it to the Yam Gate. It is seen as a symbol of body renunciation. On the other hand, the Buddhist Lama wishes for such salvation. Sometimes the sick lamas have to sacrifice their lives here so that they can attain salvation.
According to one myth, if you revolve around the Yam Dwar, it is considered as the completion of the Kailash Yatra. In addition, it is also said that circulating the Yama Dwara leads to the attainment of heaven. The belief is that Chitragupta eliminates all of your bad karmic work if you pass through the yam gate.
