The implementation of the new rules will increase the price of cars again

- Demand for two years exemption from implementation of new rules by the auto industry

Since the Corona epidemic entered India last year, one new challenge after another has emerged against the automobile industry in the country. This adversity has not ended to this day. Other adverse effects, such as declining vehicle sales, rising raw material prices, and disruption to global equipment, continue to have an adverse effect on people's incomes due to the epidemic. The auto industry is now concerned about the new rules that will be implemented by the government on passenger safety and emissions. According to the industry, the implementation of these new rules will lead to a rise in car prices again.

The new rules enacted by the government are expected to be implemented by the auto industry in the next two years. Auto companies are set to implement three new rules regarding passenger safety and emissions. In which airbags have been made mandatory for the front two seats in each car which is to be implemented from 31st August this year.

Car manufacturers also believe the move is necessary for safety. But, for this facility, the price of an entry level car is also Rs. It will increase from 10 to 30,000. Prices were increased by all the companies due to the increase in the price of raw materials. Now if this new rule is implemented, the price will have to be increased again. Which can have a direct impact on sales.

According to the real driving emissions in the new emissions rules, pollution emissions in any car will be tested while running on that road. Until now companies have been doing production. Thus, this new rule will bring many changes in the manufacturing process. Which is to be implemented from April 207. The implementation of this new rule will result in huge expenditure on diesel vehicles. In addition, the burden will fall on the customers.

If we look at the third rule, it is fuel efficiency. The new rule will require changes to the engine, which will reduce vehicle emissions. Under the new rule, automakers will reduce carbon dioxide emissions after 202 per km. 115 grams will be done. Which is currently 150 grams. Even in the implementation of this new rule, auto companies will have to make massive new investments.

The Coro epidemic has also put the auto industry in trouble. The issue has been raised with the government by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) at the time. Siam said the new rules should be allowed to run for at least two years. Thus, the auto industry has come down to the level of 2016-17 due to the epidemic. Then the implementation of these rules will be a financial burden on the auto industry. As well as the price of the car will increase. Thus, the auto industry from both sides will come to a standstill.
