Maharana Pratap, the great grandson of India, the heroic warrior of Mewar, the supreme hero, Shiva devotee Rajput king Maharana Pratap was born on 9 May 190. According to the Hindi date, Jeth Sud Trij of Samvat 16 took place on Sunday at Kumbhalgarh fort in Rajasthan. His father was Maharaja Uday Singh and mother was Rani Jayavantabai-Jivatkanwar. He was the grandson of Varaja Rana Sanga of Sisodia dynasty. Maharana Pratap was the king of Sisodaya dynasty in Udaipur, Mewar. His family deity is Ekling Mahadev. Eklingji Mahadev, the adorable deity of the queens of Mewar, is of great importance in the history of Mewar. The temple of this glorious Eklingji Mahadev is located in Udaipur. Bappa Rawal, the founder of Mewar, built the temple in the eighth century and revered Lord Shiva in the form of Eklingji. Maharana Pratap was a devotee of Eklingji and Bhavani.
Rajputana has a proud place in the history of India. The valiant warriors of this clan-society did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives for the protection of the country, caste, religion and freedom. There were many Rajput kingdoms on this Virbhumi who fought for the independence of India. Mewar has a prominent place of its own in these states. In which Veeratno Bappa Rawal, Khuman I Maharana Hammir, Maharana Kumbha, Maharana Sanga, Uday Singh and Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap have been born.
The great Rana Pratap chose to live in the forests but did not choose the slavery of foreign Mughals. He dedicated everything for the nation, religion and freedom. At the time of Maharana Pratap, Delhi was ruled by the Ottoman Emperor Akbar. Who wanted to establish the Mughal Empire by subjugating all the kings and maharajas of India. Despite continuous efforts for 40 years, Akbar could not capture Maharana Pratap. The horse that Maharana Pratap rode was one of the best horses in the world named 'Chetak'. At that time Maharana Pratap was wearing a 6 kg armor and holding a 21 kg spear in his hand. Carrying shields, spears, and shields and swords, the four of them weighed 305 kg. With so much weight, it is not easy to walk on the battlefield all day and fight. Only from this can one realize how powerful Maharana Pratap will be.
In 15 AD, a battle took place between Maharana Pratap and Akbar in Haldi valley which is an example for the whole world today. Hundreds of Akbar's soldiers were killed due to the unprecedented bravery and prowess of Rana Pratap and his army and his army had to flee from there. Once during the war, Maharana Pratap introduced his religion, culture and rites. In that battle, the army of the imperial general Nirzakhan surrendered. He was accompanied by royal begums and Mughal women. Maharana Pratap retained his honor and respectfully sent him back to Mirza Khan.
Maharana Pratap died on 14 January 19 in his new capital Chavand. Maharana Pratap, a true Rajput, valiant patriotic warrior, protector of the motherland, became immortal in the world forever. Even his arch-enemy Akbar wept on hearing the news of his demise. At that time he said, 'Everything in this world is perishable. The Maharana gave up wealth and land but never bowed his head. He is the only king of Hindustan. Who maintained the pride of their race. Akbar was an admirer of his virtues.
In the poem 'Haldi Ghatika Yuddha', its poet Shyamnarayan Pandey says - 'Vandoli hai yahi, yahi par samadhi senapati ki mahatirtha ki yaha vedika, yahi amar-rekha smriti ki. Once enlightened, yes this is what happened, the sun is setting. Chala yahi se timir ho gaya andhakar may jag samast .. Today I have come here to lay flowers on this achievement. Today I have come here to light a lamp on the holy Samadhi.
