The festival that ignites the flame of knowledge in the disciples through the divine promises of Sadguru is 'Guru Purnima'. On the other side, 'Vyaspurnima' is a festival that conveys the message of surrendering to the disciples with faith. Guru Gyan also does the work of expressing the spiritual flame in the thirsty. On this holy day, the disciples worship the Padya to express their gratitude and devotion to their Guru. Along with this they also offer Gurudakshina to the Guru as much as possible.
In Indian culture, there is a prominent tradition of worshiping Guru Poonam's holy, prabhat pulpit. There is a belief among devotees that Maharshi Vyas worships the pulpit as a symbol of Shankaracharyaji.
Only if the miserable, afflicted, suffering worldly being walks on the path of practicing the religion of knowledge, will he attain happiness and peace in life. To guide this, God is born in the form of Guru among human society. In addition, to stop the loss of theology, to spread the light of religion again among the people, God gives knowledge as a guru.
The microscopic element is better than the gross element. In the same way Gurukripa tends to be more subtle than gross. Often meditating on the speech he utters is more enlightening than the direct presence of the ideal guru. If the grace of Sadguru rains, the path of spiritual advancement becomes easy.
Parents nurture and raise a child after birth. But by irrigating his self-consciousness, a Sadguru makes an important contribution in making him a true human being. Just like a skilled sculptor carves a stone into a beautiful shiny copy. In the same way, Sadhguru teaches the disciple self-awareness and gives him his best knowledge to make him a good person. Due to which the disciple gets excellent guidance, he reaches the high peaks of his career. The Guru has a special contribution in removing the evil poison that pervades the human mind.
'Guru jahan jahan prabhu wahan wahan,
Where is such a Guru without knowledge?
In this way, Sadguru makes the disciple God-oriented by imparting self-knowledge. At the same time, by teaching them Brahmanishtha, it unites them with the Supreme Being.
Jagadguru Shri Vallabhacharyaji states that the Guru is the one who pursues Jagadish. The Sadguru is the one who removes the inner sacrifice and fascination of the disciple and paves the way of love and devotion.
Worshiping such a holy Guru on the auspicious occasion of this 'Gurupurnima' becomes a reason to earn merit. Jupiter is the embodiment of the human goal. That is why the worship of Guru is the worship of Sakshat Parabrahm.
It is not possible to describe in simple words the tradition of disciple-guru that has been going on since ancient times. That is why Saint Shri Kabir says in his famous Doha,
Let me say sub dharti kagaj, write sub vanraj, do sat samudra ki ink.
Jupiter marks are not written.
