The epidemic dampened Vivek Oberoi's enthusiasm to become a producer

- Vivek Oberoi made his debut in the construction sector just last year. And he had to be very busy this year. But his work was halted due to the Corona epidemic and the lockout that followed.

To date, actor Vivek Oberoi has a number of films, web series. And many of its projects have stalled due to another wave of epidemics. Importantly, Vivek Oberoi is the first Bollywood actor to make a comeback on the OTT platform, which became the largest medium of entertainment in Corona's time. He says the OTT stage has flourished in times of epidemics.

It is worth mentioning here that Vivek Oberoi made his debut in the construction sector only last year. And he had to be very busy this year. But his work was halted due to the Corona epidemic and the lockout that followed. However, during the unlock in the year 2020, Vivek started working on his own films. Yet there was constant uncertainty in the filmmaking process.

However, Vivek says that no one had any idea that such a situation was going to arise. Artists like us were badly caught between the first and second wave of Corona virus. When you start working on a film, you are sure about the financial investment, dates as well as other resources. But when the shooting stops for any reason, his budget is completely disrupted. But you have no choice but to kneel down against the situation. To be honest, all my enthusiasm for being a creator has waned. Nowadays a lot more time is wasted than nowadays to start a project.

Now it seems to me that it will only happen when it has to happen. So right now I'm focusing on humanitarian work that can be considered more important. Vivek Oberoi was offered the web series 'Inside Age' in 2012 and he accepted. "A lot of people told me that my move was wrong," says Vivek, recalling the lessons given to the actor at the time. It doesn't cost money to watch content on a phone in India. But today we are seeing the younger generation subscribing to more than one streaming platform.

It is clear that people's attitudes toward entertainment have changed dramatically. I’m glad I accepted to work in a web show at the time. Vivek further says that during this lockdown I read many scripts and also showed readiness to do two web projects out of them. However, if the Corona had not struck, it would have taken another 10 years for the OTT platform to flourish to such an extent. Before the time of the epidemic, people used to go to the cinemas to watch movies and come home and discuss about it. But now people sit at home and watch movies, shows, series online and discuss it on social media.

If this power of the internet remains the same in the future, then it will not happen that the habit of people going to the cinemas will be lost. I want the audience to continue the habit of going to theaters and watching movies. If that doesn't happen, it's time to dump her and move on. And this thing will be very sad. Whatever you say, hundreds of spectators sit together in a cinema hall and watch a movie on the big screen. However, the actor does not hesitate to admit that the subject variety seen on OTT is never found in films. So I want people's attachment to cinemas to remain intact.
