Everywhere in the coming days, Ganapati Bappa died ..! No Naad Survey will resound among Ganesh devotees. And these words spoken with devotion will end all the weak and old with devotion. But have we ever wondered what is the meaning of the word Morya or Moriya pronounced with Ganapati Bappa and Mangalamurthy?
One of the most common and accepted meanings is that the word Morya was associated with the name of Lord Ganesha due to the utmost devotion of the devotee Morya Gosavi.
There are different opinions about the time of the devotee. According to a story based on these universally accepted matters.
Vaman Bhatt and his wife Parvatibai, who lived in a village called Shaligram in Bidar district of Karnataka, had children there. Therefore, the couple reached Morgaon near Pune and there was a disturbance. He named this son Morya. In this village, Moreya met his guru Nayanbharati Gosavi. The word Gosavi came from Goswami. Go means senses and Swami means owner. That is, Goswami or Gosai whose senses and instincts are under his control. Morya got Gosavi after 3 days of rituals. They lived in samsara even though they wore saffron.
After attaining Ashtasiddhi, the Moraya devotee settled in Morgaon and spent the rest of his life there. Gradually, his fame began to spread. People started coming to see him. But once a Moraya devotee felt that such a large crowd would be an obstacle in his devotion to Ganesha. So he thought of taking Samadhi alive. Subsequent events are like legends, depicting a passion for devotion.
Gosaviji invoked Moreshwar, a form of Shri Ganapatiji, and he prayed, 'O Lord! My idea is to take Samadhi alive, to meditate with you. '
Then Moreshwarji replied, 'Hey Vats! We all exist apart from the outside. But from a distance we are one. I will always dwell in your heart. '
It is said that after that, the name of Moreya was permanently associated with Ganapati Bappa.
There is great glory in the journey of Ashtavinayak. Moraya Gosavi had discovered eight such locals. And they regularly went to worship in these temples. There is a temple of Moriya Gosavi in Moreshwar, one of the Ashta Vinayakas. Under a tree in the circumambulation there, Moraya Gosavi pleased Lord Ganapati.
Let us praise Shri Ganeshji on this Ganesh Chaturthi in the memory of this devotee Morya Gosai who has become one with Lord Ganesha.
'Vighneshwarai Vardaya Surpriya,
Lambodaraya saklaya jagaddhitap ..
