- 3000 deaths in the last three decades. Seeing the death toll of 3000 professors, it seems that our scientists are being systematically wiped out.
It is a matter of concern that one mysterious death after another of nuclear scientists is taking place in India. If 25-50 deaths happen, it will not get much attention, but in the last three decades, there have been 5,000 deaths. Seeing the death toll of 5,000 scientists, it seems that our scientists are being systematically wiped out. Could this be an act of terrorism.
The misfortune of our country is that if a farmer commits suicide, it is made a national issue as it is a vote bank while no one is ready to raise a voice about the death of hundreds of nuclear scientists working in various nuclear research centers of the country.
The latest case is a must. The body of a 7-year-old scientist working at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) was found strangled at the centre's helium plant. Trombay police have noted the accidental death and are investigating further.
The deceased was Champalal Prajapat, a scientist in the technical physics department of BARC, who was an expert in superconductors. A friend of Prajapat expressed doubts about his death. He said that despite being on leave on Ganesh Chaturthi, he did not reach home for a long time and a friend was sent to search for him. His body was found hanging at the helium plant at 7 p.m. His body color had also turned brown and no letter was received from him.
Worryingly, as the plant is a high security zone, CCTV cameras have been set up at all places, but without a thorough investigation, the police have dismissed the suspicion and noted that he died accidentally. He was undergoing treatment for depression at the BARC hospital.
Eight months ago, 6-year-old scientist Anuj Tripathi, who was working in the bio-cam department of BARC, also committed suicide after a quarrel with his wife. If there is a single case of accidental death or suicide, it can be ignored. But over the last three decades, a number of mathematicians and physicists working in various nuclear power plants in India have died.
Loknath Mahalingam, 6, was a senior scientific officer at the Kaiga Atomic Power Station in Karnataka. His position was strategically important with the army. One morning in June 2006, he went missing after a morning walk. His body was found five days after his missing report was filed. Police claimed he had committed suicide but there was also no evidence that he went outside his residential complex. The investigation into the incident did not yield any tangible results.
In response to an RTI filed by Rahul Sehrawat, a resident of Haryana five years ago, on September 21, the department said that three officials of the Nuclear Power Corporation had also died under mysterious circumstances during the period, two of whom had allegedly committed suicide while one died on the road.
The bodies of two C-group scientists working at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center) Trombay were found hanging in their homes in 2010, while a scientist of this category was found dead at his home in Rawatbhat in 2013. In one of Bark's cases, police claim he committed suicide after a long illness and the case file was closed.
Two researchers were killed in a mysterious fire at the BARC Trombay Chemical Lab in 2010. Such suspicions were raised when an F-grade scientist was killed at his home in Mumbai. He was strangled to death but the accused has not been found yet.
An RRCAT D-grade scientist also allegedly committed suicide. In this case too, the police closed the case file. Another scientist working in Kalpakkam allegedly jumped into the sea in 2012 and lost his life.
A Mumbai-based scientist has allegedly committed suicide by hanging, with police blaming personal reasons. In another case, a scientist allegedly jumped into the Kali river at Karwar in Karnataka and died. Police closed the case citing personal reasons.
An employee named Ravi Moole of Nuclear Power Corporation of India went missing one day. His body was found the next day. However, the police could not find any trace of his murder. He fell or was thrown from the 7th floor of Kaiga Township. That thing was locked in a mystery forever.
Umarao, a retired female scientist from Bhabha Atomic Center, was found dead in his house. Police said he was suffering from depression so has committed suicide. A suicide note obtained from his body also said he was responsible for the death. However his colleagues made it clear that he was not suffering from any depression but was cheerful.
The bodies of two nuclear scientists KK Joshi and Abhishek Shivam, who were working on a nuclear submarine project, were also found in Visakhapatnam in October 2016. Their bodies were found on the railway tracks. There were no signs of injuries on his body. He was believed to have been killed elsewhere and thrown on a railway track. There was no further investigation into the case.
In the last three decades, 30 nuclear scientists and other experts have committed suicide in Bhabha Atomic Energy Center of Bhabha Atomic Research Center.
Bhabha Atomic Research Center is an important institution of our country. The branch of such various centers located in different parts of the country employs 2000 people. About 30,000 scientists and other staff live at Trombay, Deonar, Anushaktinagar. In the last ten years, about six people have committed suicide in this colony. Among them are 12 scientists, two security officers, two women clerks, a truck driver, a scientist's son and a wife. This series of suicides from 18 to a. That. It started with Roy's suicide.
The reasons for the suicide of the scientists here are not known, but Gajendra Gadkar, in a judgment passed by the committee and the Supreme Court in 19, said that the suicides were due to torture, corruption, coercion and beatings. It is also doubtful that the intellectual class, such as the nuclear scientist, would close his death file by linking it to depression. A gentleman lawyer from Mumbai, who has been plagued by 2,000 deaths in 30 years, had resorted to public interest litigation. He moved ahead in 2010 following an RTI by an activist.
The petitioner wrote to 30 organizations seeking data on the mysterious deaths of nuclear scientists. The government says there is nothing suspicious about the deaths of 2,000 scientists in 10 years. However a well-organized conspiracy to wipe out these scientists seems to be going on. So the government should investigate.
