Information on pyrogenic fumed silica

- Industrial Guidance: Dhiru Parekh

Pyrogenic fused silica means white colloid high purity, synthetic, hydrophilic amorphous silica produced via flame hydrolysis fused silica made by combustion (oxidation) of silicon tetrachloride in hydrogen-oxygen

Silica: Silica is an inorganic chemical. Silica is obtained by EarthCrust in almost every country. The only difference is the Sio2 percented content. Silica based products include precipitated silica, silica gel, fumed silica, and colloid silica type products.

Chemical compound: silicon dioxide (i.e. silica)

Chemical formulation: Sio2 Industrial end (sand), known as silica sand quartz sand.

This sand (sand) glass manufacturing foundry, abrasive, is used for hydraulic fracturing. It is also used as a filler in silica elastomer products. Silica is used in many industrial products. Used in industries such as Plastic Industries, Reinforcement in Rubber, Paint & Ink, Cosmetics, Antiblocking, Off Plastics, Foil, Pesticides and Insecticides, Reforming Filler in Silicone Rubber, Stabilizing in Beer etc.

There are two types of silica. (1) Ground silica (2) Processed silica Precipitated silica is called processed silica. It is overused in rubber and tires as a reinforcement agent. It is also used for anti-caking or free-flowing agent in chromatic and food application.

Silica is available in 12 (string) crystalline form. Precipitated silica: Precipitated silica produces by chemical reaction: Precipitated silica is formed by the reaction of mineral acid or aluminum sulphate (sodium aluminum silicate) with an equal solution of sodium silicate.

Quartz: Quartz means Sio2 silica, crystalline silicon dioxide, silica

Property: Color White to Redis, Sp. Gravity 7.5 MPa 1912 C grade insoluble in acid, except hydrofluoric.

Quartz Fused: Pure silica glass, which acts as electric and heat resistant for fiber or fabric.
