Many Muslims, Sikhs, Dalits, Christians, Parsis, Dravidians, women, businessmen joined him because of his belief in Gandhi's approach of respecting anti-religious ideology. That is why the communists who came to power in India by exploiting the peasants and laborers elsewhere in the world could never become mainstream.
