- In both RK and Yashji's films, the characters of the heroine are as strong and varied as the protagonist, you can't live without being influenced by the heroine as much as the hero after watching his film.
There is a saying in English that Great Man Thinks Alike. This saying applies exactly to two showmen of Hindi films Rajakpur and Yash Chopra. Both had a passion for filmmaking, both had a wide range of films and both had a natural knowledge of music. There was another similarity between RK and Yashji. In both the films, the characters of the heroine are as strong and varied as the protagonist. You can't live without being influenced by the heroine as much as the hero after watching her film.
Yash Chopra's 9th birth anniversary has just passed on September 9, so today we will talk about his strong heroines. Yashji is known for making mostly romantic films but most of the heroines in his romantic scripts did not just sing duets. 'Kabhi-Kabhi' was an out-and-out love story under the banner of Yashraj Films. In the film, Rakhi is seen first as Amitabh Bachchan's girlfriend and then as Shashi Kapoor's wife. Years later in her life, her husband and lover face each other. For that, it is the biggest test of life, from which it comes out with full dignity and self-respect. Looking at the character of Rakhi on the screen, one can understand that this Indian woman has no regrets in her mind for the love of her former ashram or the present of domestic life. From time to time, Rakhi, with her strong but restrained acting, conveyed the message to women that a woman's life never runs in a straight line, her life is always in turmoil, for which she has no regrets at all.
'Deewar' directed by Yash Chopra was a landmark film for Amitabh Bachchan. Vijay, the hero of the wall, worked to stamp on Bachchan's image of Angry Youngman. But Nirupa Roy, who played the role of Mani along with Amitabh, and Parveen Babi, who played the role of Annie's girlfriend, are still in the memory of Sinerico after decades. The mother of the wall who has been a widow all her life has seen extreme poverty and hardship and yet she is adamant on her principles. The smuggler's son's array is not uncommon. That is why when his son comes to give him a luxurious bungalow as a gift, after learning about his black business, he can say to him very calmly and firmly, 'Speak one thing, never try to buy your mako, son.' With that, he leaves home with his young son and runs away. Yashji has established my pride with this single scene of the wall. In the wall we saw the pinnacle of Sadagat Nirupa Roy's performance.
In the same film Parveen Babi plays the role of a modern and glamorous callgirl who smokes cigarettes and drinks alcohol. And he also sells his body, but nowhere in his speech or behavior does he show much regret. Rona-Dhona is not a part of her life. He lives happily, digesting the bitter reality of life.
As far back as 191, Yash Chopra had given a similar role to Mala Sinha in his second film as a director 'Dharmaputra'. In the film, Malaji played the role of a Muslim woman. A woman named Meena becomes a virgin and gives birth to a son in her youth. His son grows up in a Hindu family and when he is young he (Shashi Kapoor) becomes a staunch Hindu. It hates Muslims. In Dharmaputra, Yashji does not show any guilt or shame towards his heroine. He also has no remorse for his son's behavior. It never appears in his behavior that he has made a big mistake by raising a son in a Hindu family. Mala Sinha knew the character of such a secular woman to be super alive in Dharmaputra.
Yashji's film 'Lamhe' released in 191 failed at the box office. But the director never settled the matter. Because he knew that by making a moment, he has given a film to Bollywood earlier than the time. In the moment, Sridevi played the double role of mother and daughter. After the death of Maa Pallavi, Pooja, the daughter who grew up under the umbrella of Kunwarsaheb (Anil Kapoor), seems to love Manoman. Kunwarsaheb becomes an idol for worship. He doesn't mind falling in love with Kunwarsaheb, who is almost twice his age. When Pooja shapes love in front of Kunwar, they slap him on the cheek. Even after that, without hesitation, Lagir keeps saying 'Ilview' to the middle-aged lover more than once. Only Yash Chopra can venture to create a love story between a teenager and a man in his forties.
Like Moment, Kala Patthar was a flop of Yashji. Despite being a multistar film and a script by Salim-Javed, Kala Patthar did not work. Yet the mature love story of Vijay (Bachchan) and Sudha (Rakhi) left an indelible impression on the viewers. Vijay is a court-martial suspended officer of the Navy. He becomes a coal miner to forget his disgraceful past. In the same way Sudhano also has a tragic past, forgetting to serve as a doctor to the miners. Vijay and Sudha do not fall in love at first sight in the film and Sudha at first sight in the film. Circumstances and events bring them closer. Directed by Yash, Amitabh and Rakhi made a mature love story in black stone on the super screen.
