The chip problem is unlikely to be resolved immediately

- Adversity capacity arising from this problem will take one to two years

The various industries that have been in trouble for some time now do not seem to be getting rid of the chip shortage immediately. Leading chip makers Qualcomm and Intel say the chip shortage is likely to continue for the next one to two years. Both companies say that during this period, mobile equipment, ICE and electric vehicles, equipment, data centers may face short or large scale chip shortages.

Intel India sources said, "After a long time, the demand for the chip is on the rise. Everyone is doing their best to cope with this serious situation, but the demand is so high that an adequate supply of chips is not possible. The company is not afraid to invest in increasing semiconductor production, but it will take at least one to two years to rectify the demand-supply imbalance. Demand for chips in various sectors in India, including cloud and data centers, is not being met. However, there is no immediate solution to this problem. It can take one to two years for the condition to return to normal.

Chip design company Qualcomm believes the same. Qualcomm said everyone knows why the demand for chips has suddenly increased. The demand for chips used in electronic devices increased significantly during the Kovid epidemic. The company is currently trying to strike a balance between supply and demand for chips by the early months of 203. There is no doubt that the chip's wait for other industries, including auto companies, could be a bit longer.

Chip shortages are clearly visible in all sectors in India. In which the automobile industry has been most affected. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, vehicle sales in September fell by 4.5 per cent year-on-year. Chip shortages have also affected mobile phone production. Reliance Jio was affected by its plan to launch its Android phone with Google for this reason.

Crisil has cut its estimates based on an analysis of the performance of three major automakers, which have a 51 per cent market share in the country's automotive market. Semiconductors, also known as chips, are an important tool in vehicle production. Vehicles with modern features require more chips compared to the usual models. As the gap between supply and demand widened, the waiting period for some models has increased from 2-3 months to 2-3 months, market sources said.
