Lord Krishna is the one who digests the cosmic fire which is combined with prana and apana. Controlling the mind is the penance of the mind so not eating fried, stale or stale food can prove to be harmful.

We have Tulsi in Prasad in the story of Satyanarayana there. So Tulsi leaves are offered to Vishnu. Basil is beneficial for health. The fact that Lord Krishna ate Sudama's rice and Viduraji's vegetable is a sign of simple food.
