Maharaj Videhi Janak, a descendant of Nimi Raja of Ikshvaku clan, had remained detached from the world and had attained Karma Yoga!

- Vichar-Vithika-Devesh Mehta

Ma Haraj Nimi was the first king of Mithila. He was the grandson of Manu and the son of Ikshvaku. Talking about it, Lord Rama himself said to Lakshmana - 'O Lakshmana, I am telling you a story about a curse that befell Maharaj Nimi. Nimi, one of our forefathers, was a majestic king. He was the twelfth son of Mahatma Ikshvaku. He founded a town called Vaijayanta. By establishing this town he performed a great yajna. He first invited Maharshi Vasishta and then Atri, Angira and Bhugu sages for Yajna. But Maharshi Vashishta had already been invited by Devraj Indra for a yajna so he was going to perform the yajna there. He told Nimi to wait but the moment was passing so Nimi called Maharshi Gautam and started the Yajna.

When Maharshi Vashisht looked back, he saw Gautam Muni performing Yajna. He angrily wanted to meet Nimi and suggested for her. Even after waiting for two or four hours, Nimi did not come to meet him, so Maharshi Vashisht cursed him. That your body will become lifeless and loose. When King Nimini found out about this curse, he also cursed him and said that I have done this by following the scriptures and the Gurus. You cursed me even though I was coming to meet you by sacrificing. Like me, your body will become lifeless. Thus both became disembodied due to the curse.

Hearing this, Lakshman asked Lord Shriram, "How did these two get a new body after brother?" Answering him, Lord Shriram said that at first both of them became air. Vashisht prayed to Brahmaji to receive the body. Brahmaji told him to enter the semen secreted through the friend and god Varuna. With this you will be born as Ionij and become my son. In this way Vashishta became the son of Manas of Brahma, reincarnated and became Prajapati.

After that Lord Shriram started telling Lakshman, now I will tell you the story of Nimi Raja. After the body of Nimi Raja was released, the sages performed the yajna themselves and protected his body. Then Bhugu sage asked Nimi Raja, where should your Jiva Chaitanya be established? In response, Nimi said, "I want to dwell in the eyes of all animals. Their desire has been fulfilled and they have found a place in the eyelids of animals. The word Nimi in Sanskrit means eyelid."

The sages churned her preserved body with the intention of continuing the area of Rajarshi Nimina clan. As a result, a baby was born from that body. As he became the son of the disembodied Nimino, one of his names became Videh. Self-generated means also known as Mithi as it originated from Janak and Manthan. After he grew up and founded the town of Mithila, all the kings of this clan were called Janak and Videha.

The whole Nimi clan was wise. All were enlightened by the grace of Muniraj Yajnavalkaya. Among them, Bhumi Nandini's father Janak's name was Siradhvaj, from whose plow the Sitaji came out of the land. Siradhvaj Janak Maharaj was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Shivaji was pleased and gave him his own pinak bow. In Sitaji's Swayamvara, Lord Shriram broke this same bow. Which no one could lift.

Maharaj Janak was constantly situated in the form of Brahma. He did not have the slightest attachment to the body and the world. This is also the reason why people used to call him Videh. It is believed. Great sages and Maharishis used to come from him to receive the teachings of theology and to discuss knowledge. M's resentment was unparalleled. Although he was a Raj Pat, he remained aloof and unattached to all. Lord Krishna also mentions Janaka in the Bhagavad Gita as the ideal of karma. Karmanaiv hi sansaddhimasthita janakadaya In this way even the sages like Janak etc. attained the ultimate achievement only through karma without attachment.
