It was falling. Seeing Ahalyan, Chandra's mind became disturbed. He was enthralled and lost his senses.

Once Sage Gautama got up early in the morning and went to bathe in the Ganges to do his daily routine. Chandra arrived on earth as soon as he came to know that sage Gautama was absent from the ashram. He changed his form and assumed the form of Sage Gautama!

On this side Ma Ganga said to Gautama Rishi, 'Go back. Moon has placed you in your ashram. He has come to cheat Ahalya.'

Sage Gautama immediately turned towards his ashram. Seeing the moon, he became very angry. Sage Gautama got angry and cursed Chandra: 'You entered my ashram, my room without my consent and tried to cheat my wife Ahalya, so I curse you that the black mark on your face will remain forever and your mouth will become even more ugly. .'

At the same time, the black spots on the face of the moon became thick. Gautama Rishi was also angry with Ahalya who could not recognize Bahurupiya Chandra. He turned his wife into stone.

After a long time, Ahalya was revived when Rama's feet touched this rock.
