- My first Telugu film was successful, but now I want to do other south language films. I want to do meaningful films that enrich and empower me as an actress. I am constantly looking for good content.
Mrinal Thakur's Harakh is nowhere to be found. Mrinal's Telugu debut film 'Seetha Ramam' has given him a new level of confidence. He is convinced that his decision to do more and more regional films is the right one. The Marathi girl from Dhule may have recently made her debut on Fox South, but she has no intention of putting Hindi films on the sidelines for now. "Today, every actor has to think beyond language and platform. You cannot limit yourself. If you make such a mistake, your development will be stunted. I want to do more South films, but I will continue to do Hindi films as well,' explains Mrinal.
Mrinal has had a long journey in the field of acting. Mrinal, who started his career with TV serials, after gaining fame with shows like 'Kumkumbhagya', did Marathi films and then entered Bollywood. After making her debut in Hindi films with 'Love Sonia', she gradually became the heroine of Hrithik Roshan Suddha ('Super Thirty'). Today, Mrinal has entered the top bracket of Bollywood and is considered as a dependable actor in the industry.
'My Telugu debut was a success, but I still have a lot to do. I plan to do other language films as well. I also want to do a great film in my mother tongue Marathi,' says Mrinal, adding, 'I want to do meaningful films that enrich and empower me. In short, I'm constantly looking for good content.'
Anyone who knows Mrinal closely knows that his desire is to work with master directors who are visionaries. (Well, who doesn't want that?) Mrinal is well aware that South India has no dearth of such master directors, so he has opened his doors to films in all the languages of the South. While accepting a Dakshin project, she didn't even want to think about whether the film would be released in theaters or on the OTT platform. For that, the most important thing is only one thing - how strong the director is and how lively his role is.
South films have been beating Hindi cinema at the box office for quite some time now. That's why the big daddies of Bollywood lost their sleep. What does Mrinal think about this? When he was asked this question at an event, Mrinal diplomatically replied, 'This is a temporary phase. In fact, good content runs anywhere. I know there are some strong Hindi films coming in the near future, which will definitely bring the audience back to the theatres. Otherwise, Bollywood should take inspiration from the South in one thing, that is to choose content that appeals to viewers across the country.'
It's true!
