Chittor fort in Ra Jasthan is a must see architecture. But the Vijayastambha in it has a special attraction. Commemorating King Kumbha of Mewar's victory over Muhammad Khilji's army in AD. Vijayastambha built in 1442. It took 10 years to build it.
The nine storied Vijayastambha is 37.19 meters high. Each floor has a balcony leading out. The construction is done with red clay, stone and marble. Geometry has been heavily used in the design of the Victory Column. The 10 feet high platform has attractive sculptures and carvings of deities besides inscriptions. Vijayastambha has been included in the World Heritage Sites.
