Dreamy sky.

- Dilu's performance was being discussed in school. Everyone was raving about his performance! Just one dad...

- Kirit Goswami

It was evening time. Little Dilu was sitting alone on the bank of the lake for an hour or so. His mouth was drooping and his eyes were sad. There was some sorrow in the mind and that sorrow seemed to be expanding again and again.

Hand in hand he sat, watching the evening sky. In the sky, the rangoli of numerous colors of the evening was used, but none of them touched Dilu's mum! It was not that he did not like these colors, but he felt that the very sky of his life was being taken away from him! So he was silently looking at all these colors with helpless eyes...

Even though Dilu's eyes were fixed on the sky, his mind kept running to the events that happened this afternoon...

Dad was very angry with her today as always. The reason was the same! Dilu was standing in front of the mirror in the afternoon memorizing the dialogues of the play. At exactly the same time dad came home from work for dinner. He immediately got angry with Dilu and said - 'You started doing this crazy thing again? How many times have you refused to do all this!'

'But Dad, our school is going to do a state level play! I have got a powerful role in that play!' Dilu said expressing happiness.

Grabbing his shoulders and shaking him, his father said indignantly - 'Drama! Drama! Drama! Hey, are you ashamed or not? How many times explained to you! How many times have you refused to stop all this!'

'But papa, this is my hobby... my life-' before more words came out of Dilu's mouth, papa was shocked - 'Same thing again? Hobbies are affordable for a free man! Here, there is a problem of mixing two tons of bread! Where are you sitting with your hobby Ramayana! know? How much does your education cost! If you continue to act like this, you will lose my money and ruin your life as well, idiot!'

'That won't happen, papa, I pay enough attention to my studies! I do all the lessons well!

This is a play in the spare time -' Dilu said while arguing, then father's anger was pouring out again - 'So do some work in the spare time! don't you see This father of yours barely makes ends meet by doing black labor! Do you like drama? Shameless!'

Dilu explained to dad and said - 'Dad, I am looking for a part-time job, but...'

'You have been giving me this answer for the last six months! Where have you got any job yet? Hey, don't say that you don't have to do any job! Thief of work, Salla!' Dad angrily shot another arrow.

'No, Dad! Not so! I...'

'That's it! That's it! Too much now! That's how you fool someone else!'

'But dad! You try to understand me-'

'What should I try to understand? Hey! understand what Do you have any sense in you? Number one stupid boy you are! I am teaching you with bandages on my stomach... in the hope that you will earn soon and the burden will be lightened from my head! But...'

'Yes, father! I want the same!'

'What dust do you want! You just want to play this kind of drama forever!'

'Acting is my passion, Dad! How can I leave the drama? And in the future, you can earn money from it...'

'Earnings?! Hey, what did you want to earn me! If you earn, then who will play the drama?'

'Daddy, please! Be patient! Everything will be alright! I understand exactly your hopes and all your wishes! I appreciate it too! But that's all for now, you listen to me and—'

'I don't want to hear anything from you! And such sweet-sweet things will be going on in your play! I have only one thing! Listen to one thing! If you want to live in this house, stop the drama and start work from today! Got it?'

'But Dad...'

'No, nothing else! This is my final decision!'

Dad angrily went back to work without eating. Dilu was very sad about that. He also did not eat.

After Dad left, he was sitting by the window for ever and ever. A play script was lying in front of him. He was looking at the script by turning the pages. After some struggle and hard work, he got a chance to act in this drama!

Already he wanted to become an actor. That was his dream. He acted in many small and big plays in school. As he grew older, his feelings and understanding of acting grew.

At present he was studying in sixth standard. Can be said to be average in studies, but in acting he was one! At the audition of this role, everyone was very impressed. Then his acting was being discussed everywhere in the school. Everyone was raving about his performance!

Just one dad...

Bitterness spread in Dilu's mind as soon as she remembered her father. He stood up from the bank of the lake. It was getting dark. He glanced at the lake water. The water was still and the blackness of darkness descended upon it.

It was time to return home, but Dilu's mind did not believe anymore. There was a lot of sorrow, a lot of pain in the mind. Looking at the water of the lake, he was thinking to himself - 'Will Dad, never understand me? My dream of becoming an actor will never come true? I want to live my way, but Dad! Dad is not ready to listen or believe anything I say! From where do you believe? They do not understand that... Oh! What can I do? what do i do I will never be able to explain it to Dad! So, so and so, I have to hum forever! Rather than-'

Without thinking anything more, Dilu angrily approached the bank of the lake. The water looked completely black. Well, he stepped forward with the intention of plunging into this black water... At that moment, someone grabbed his shovel from behind!

'No, friend! No...' came a voice.

...and the heart stopped!

(Sequentially:)
