- 'When I have to give a live performance, I get very tense. I love music, but live performances scare me, I get nervous. This is why I don't do musical tours.'
Even if you are not fond of English songs, there is one song that your ears need. It is the title song sung by British singer Adele for the James Bond film 'Skyfall'. Adele is world famous. She has won fifteen Grammy Awards and one Oscar Award. Nowadays however it is in the news for the issue of mental health.
Mental health is finally gaining importance, especially after the pandemic. Recently many celebrities spoke about this matter. Adele is one of them. He spoke candidly about his therapy. The singer revealed that after stopping therapy for several years, she started it again. After her divorce from ex Simon Konecki in 2019, she required five therapy sessions a day.
'When I was going through my divorce, therapy was five sessions a day,' says Adele. I stopped holding myself accountable for my actions and the things I said. I have to start this session again, but now I have started accepting responsibility. My confidence has also increased. I get very tense when I have to perform live. I love music but live performance scares me, I get nervous. That's why I don't do musical tours. In the end I only toured because I wanted to prove that I can perform well on stage.'
He further explained that he often puts a lot of pressure on himself trying to be 'perfect and complete'. He admitted that his mental health reasons were responsible for postponing his initial show in January this year.
Explaining the importance of regular therapy sessions, he said, 'These sessions are not only essential for people experiencing mental stress, but also for maintaining mental health. We are constantly being shaped by our genes, our environment, our experiences, our relationships. Hence as members of society we all go through two levels of change. One from society's perspective and one from our personal experiences. For both these reasons we have gone through a stress which stunted our development.' It is true.
