Nawazuddin Siddiqui enters new territory as lover-boy

People believe that dark skin can never fall in love. Thus racism is widespread in the minds of all. We cannot blame this on others, as it is prevalent in all of us. Every day you hear a mother telling her son to get married and bring a girl. We need to change this mindset and create more realistic lovestories. '

Today we watch content-rich films in Bollywood. Are you making that shift? In response to the question, Nawazuddin Siddiqui says, "I do not believe there has been a big change in Bollywood. In the past, our onscreen lovers used to marry in Switzerland and now in Bhopal. Naturally, the story is about marriage.

Festival films get a lot of love from people, but the collection at the box office is negligible, so what changed then? Other films are acclaimed, but the formula is the same. Songs, dances, comedies and weddings are the same. This is the biggest deception in the name of content. See 'Court', 'Funde', 'Photography' - these are all content based films, but they didn't work in Bollywood.

..... So you say nothing has changed? "Yes, I accept the reality that nothing has changed in Bollywood," says Nawazuddin. The reason is that we only make films on Lovestories? Have you sat down and analyzed your own work? Nawazuddin says, "Yes, I have sat down and taken the time to analyze my work. If you have success, then running away is not right. You must know which way your career is heading. I played a variety of characters and I'm thankful for the director who put his faith in me. I'm not happy with my work.

I've always been thinking that this could have been done better. I don't mean to glorify myself, but not to play some of my films like 'Manto', 'Photography'. As an actor I can make my own self-esteem whether or not this can work.

Are you cooperating with your brother through the film 'Boli Chudiya'? Nawazuddin Siddiqui says, 'This is very easy as there are scenes in the movie' Bol Chudiya 'which are inspired by my real life. I cannot say more about this at this stage. But my brother Shamak is the one who watches all the events. It was a pleasure to work with him, but we both work as professionals on set.
