Consuming walnuts regularly reduces the risk of heart disease. A study by scientists at Pennsylvania State University presents a study of how walnuts are beneficial to health. The results of this research were published in the Journal of the American Heart Association. The nut contains an element called Omega-3, which is known as alpha linolenic acid.
Scientists believe that this element is very useful in controlling blood pressure in the body. Apart from this, polyphenols in walnuts are also useful. Blood pressure is directly related to heart disease, so if blood pressure is under control, the chances of heart disease also decrease.
The researchers selected 45 people aged 30 to 65 and made them into three separate groups. All three groups were given different quantities of walnuts daily for 2 months. When all these people were re-examined at the expiry of their time, it was found that the health of the people who consumed the right nut had improved their health. In addition, the blood pressure of people taking walnuts has also been controlled.
