If we want a photo of a detail we can find it by searching on Google, but if we have a photo that we do not know the details of, then is there any way to get that detail?
The method for finding information from a photo is called 'reverse image search'.
Reverse image search in PC
Reverse image search on PC is quite easy. For that ...
(1) In your PC, go to www.google.co.in or www.google.co.in/ in any browser. Here, you will see 'Images' written at the top right. Click on it and Google's image search page will open.
(2) Now go to any image in your PC (it will be easier if you keep copying such image on desktop for trial).
(3) Now drag the image with the mouse to the Google Image Search box (again, if the browser window is a little smaller, it will be easier to drag and drop the image over the mouse).
(4) Thus, the browser's address bar also acts as a search box, but if we drag and drop an image into it or by going to www.google.co.in/, our image will only be open in the browser, we will not be able to search it. Therefore, it is important to first go to https://ift.tt/iQifuw.
(5) By the way, drop an image into the search box and Google will get it working.
(6) The results that Google will show us now may include:
Other images like the one we uploaded
The image will also show us a list of the sites it will be on
It will also show if the image we have uploaded is available on the Internet in another size.
In addition to dragging an image with the mouse this way, if we want to find out more information about an image on the Internet, the URL of that image can be copied and pasted into https://ift.tt/iQifuw. Or, you can also search for an option to search Google by right-clicking on an image that appears in Chrome or Firefox.
Reverse image search in mobile
Reverse image search is a real use in mobiles because often, we get to know more about an image we have on WhatsApp!
We can open the Chrome browser in a smartphone / tablet and search for any image that appears in it. For that, touching and holding the image, a box opens up and there are many different options besides 'Search Google for this image'.
Yes, any image you give to Google will be added to Google's database of countless photos and Google can use it for its own products and services!
But if you want to do a reverse search about the image in WhatsApp?
That can happen too! But for this, your phone should have Google's 'lens' service. This service can be found on the Google Photos app or as part of the Google Assistant app.
If you have open an image in WhatsApp, it will be saved in a folder called WhatsApp in your phone's Gallery app. If your phone uses the Google Photos app as a photo gallery, open it by looking for the image you want in the WhatsApp Images folder. At the bottom, click the 'Lens' icon if it appears. It will scan the photo and find other similar images and more information on the Internet!
