- Non-IT companies paid higher dividends than IT companies
Given the rising profits of companies due to lower raw material prices and reduced operating costs, shareholders can expect higher dividends from their companies in FY2021. The consolidated dividend payments of companies that have declared their results so far in FY 2021 have increased by 7.5 per cent, but are much lower than the 21.5 per cent growth in FY2030.
In FY 2021, the net sales of companies that declared results in the initial phase declined by 1.4 per cent, while net profit rose by 4.5 per cent.
Some of the top companies have announced higher dividend payments in FY2021. These companies include Hindustan Unilever Indus Towers, Tata Steel, Ultratech Cement, Larsen, Dabur, Asian Paints and UPL. Banks, on the other hand, are not paying dividends, while Marico, TCS, Maruti Suzuki and Godrej Consumer have declared lower dividends in FY21.
At the individual level, TCS will pay the highest dividend of Rs 19.50 crore in the financial year, which is 3 per cent less than the previous year's dividend payment of Rs 4.5 crore. Similarly, Infosys has declared a dividend of Rs 11.5 crore. Hindustan Unilever has raised Rs. 6,616 crore Indus Towers Rs. 4.5 crore, Larsen Toubro Rs. 2,08 crore and Reliance Industries declared a dividend of Rs.

As for non-IT companies, they are paying higher dividends in FY2021. The consolidated dividend payments of non-IT companies have increased by 7.5 per cent, the fastest growth in five years. These companies have proposed a dividend of Rs 3,16 crore to their shareholders, while in FY20, they have paid Rs. 2,50 crore dividend was paid.
In contrast, IT companies Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro and HCL Technologies have reduced dividend payments in FY2021.
