A love affair between Prem Nath and Vijay Anand's career

Ordinary people are indebted to each other. There is no blood or social connection between them. Yet once they meet each other, their lives become so closely intertwined that they have to be considered as a bond between them. Even in the glamorous world of silver screen, there are many examples of such debt bondage. One of these is a lesser known example. Actor Prem Nath and actor-director Vijay Anand. These two great artists are not among us today. Premnath and Goldie alias Vijay Anand, in their film careers, worked to identify each other's talents and present them to the audience. While studying at Goldie's prestigious St. Xavier's College in Mumbai, Premnath recognized his talent as an actor-director in Emna at the age of 18.

Prem Nath entered the film industry as a hero in the 180's. Nath was called the first matchman of the industry because of his strong physique. Hyman Dharmendra has also often admitted that he was motivated to come into films by the physical fitness of two actors. One was actor Shyam and the other was Prem Nath. As an actor, Nath was formed in Prithviraj Kapoor's Prithvi Theater. They can do justice to both positive and negative roles. By playing parallel roles in films like Aag, Ajit, Barsaat, Naujawan, Badal and Aan, he made the top heroes of the time feel inferior.

Returning to the original subject, Premnath along with Ramanand Sagar and Kedar Sharma attended St. Xavier's College Drama Competition as a judge. The first prize winning drama called 'Rehearsal' was directed by Vijay Anand. It was then that Premnath recognized Goldie's diamond. He predicted a happy future. Vijay Anand fulfilled the veteran actor's prediction by directing the film of Navketan's banner on the 19th.

Actor Rajendranath and Narendra Nath's elder brother Premnath were married to actress Bina Rai. He also produced a number of films in which he did not have much success. Nath left the industry in the late 1970's, frustrated with his film career. He also wandered a lot in the Himalayas as part of his spiritual journey. Apart from making a documentary on Mount Kailash, Premnath also wrote two books, Tears of the Heart and Tribute.

Goldie Anand, on the other hand, became a household name in Bollywood by making successful films like Nau Do Gyaarah, Kala Bazar and Guide. He gave a new dimension to crime thrillers in Hindi films. That is why many directors like Shriram Raghavan today consider Vijay Anand as their guide.

In the 19th, Goldie cast Premnath as a villain in his superhit thriller Tisri Manzil. However, the industry did not recognize Nath's acting talent. Even after the success of the third floor, Premnath did not get any films. That is why Vijay Anand gave a new twist to his career by giving the role of main villain to Nath again in his super-duper hit film 'Johnny Mera Naam' in 190. From here Nath's car picked up speed and then he never looked back. He played both positive and negative roles in Hindi films till the eighties. Like Prem Nath, Padma Khanna also got the name Johnny Mera. Padma also came into the limelight after performing the sexy song 'Hushn Ke Lakho Rang' with Prem Nath. He started getting big banner films one after another.

Premnath's son Monty made a documentary about his acting journey. The documentary titled 'Amar Prem Nath, Last of the Titans' was aired on Doordarshan on the 19th.

In the documentary, Monty said that Vijay Anand wanted to give my father the role of Johnny Mera, the missing brother in Hero's childhood, which was later done by Pran, but Goldie, motivated by a divine hint, gave Nath a negative. In that role, Prem Nath became so engrossed that he wrote a new history as a villain.

Hardly anyone knows that Premnath was also well versed in astrology. Before the release of Johnny Mera, he told his hero Dev Anand that this film, which will be released on my birthday, will set a new record at the box office and we will all benefit from it. In Monty's documentary, Pran also confirmed that Nath had made such a prediction.
