The tenth of Shukal Paksha of this hundred months is Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra. Dussehra means the festival of carrying faith and belief and the day of burning the impurities in humans. The festival of 'Vijaya Dashami', which falls on the tenth day after worshiping and worshiping the nine forms of Durga in the nine days of Navratri, is a symbol of self-victory over Atma Shakti and demonic elements. In which Lord Shri Krishna states in 5-6 verses that,
'Bandhuratmaiva Repuratman of Atmaiva Hayatman:
Bandhuputmatmanastasya Yainatmaivatmanajit: .
Anatmanastu shatrutve vartetatmaiva shatruvat.
Meaning: The sense of self-victory over 'self' is redeemed. Self-awareness is essential in order not to allow one's soul to degenerate. Man is his own friend or foe. A man who conquers himself by the power of self-restraint is his friend, but he who defeats himself is his enemy.
'Vijaya Dashami' is the great festival of its establishment with the prestige of self-victory by burning the disorders and karma-anger-greed-lust-envy residing in the human mind. Only if revenge and jealousy are burnt, love and kindness will emerge.
