Bright Diwali of Bholu.

- 'What happened, Bholu? Anyone have a boyfriend? Or something else happened? And why didn't you go home despite the holiday?'

- Kirit Goswami

Diwali's vacation fell today. All the students were very happy. One Bholu's face looked down. Where will we all go during the holidays? What should we do? How will we celebrate the festival of Diwali? They went out talking about it. Bholu alone was still sitting in the class. I saw some disappointment in his eyes.

I went to Bholu and asked - 'What is the matter, Bholu? Aren't you happy? How happy all these students are that Diwali vacation is over and you are still sitting here in class! what's the matter Is there a problem?'

Hearing my question, Bholu did not say anything for a while. I was embarrassed. I was going to ask him again when I saw tears falling from his eyes!

Wiping Bholu's tears, I asked him again - 'What happened, Bholu? Anyone have a boyfriend? Or something else happened? And why didn't you go home despite the holiday?'

'I don't want to go home...' Bholu broke the silence. There were still tears in his eyes.

I was surprised. I immediately asked - 'But why? Why don't you want to go home? Is there any reason? Why is he crying like this?'

'What should I do if I don't cry? This is what God does to me!' Bholu said in a plaintive tone.

'Oh...' I said. Then I placed my hand on his head and said - 'So you have a complaint with God? Displeased with God?'

'Yes... sir!' Bholu gave a big yes.

'But why? Any reason?' I asked.

Saying 'Listen...' Bholu started telling me everything in detail - 'Yes, I went to my friend Jackie's house yesterday. That's how Jackie took me to his house. How cool is Jackie's house, sir! There is a large bungalow! Nice doors! to sit down

For pocha-pocha sofa! TV, computer and toys so many! Jackie's mom even got a big glass of sweet sherbet! Jackie will decorate the whole house with twinkling lights on Diwali! How cool will his house look! Have fun at Jackie's house, so much fun!'

'Then why are you so sad today?' I asked in the middle, so he continued - 'Sadness will happen! When I went back to my house from Jackie's house, I didn't like my house at all! There is a very small room for me to stay! No TV, no computer, no special toys! The roof is also broken. When it rains, water is only water in the house! Even my books get wet! Why is Diwali also celebrated in this? Flashing lights are a distant thing... Even in my house there are lights sometimes! Something like that

Have a home? The house is called Jackie's house! But why didn't God give me such a house? If you give it to Jackie, my show is wrong?'

Bholu's real pain, real complaint now came to the lips. I listened carefully to everything. After Bholu had spoken, I was sometimes confused that what should I reply to his complaint?

After a few minutes I said to him - 'Come on, let's go out.'

'But the answer to my words?' Bholu asked.

'Yes, I will answer, you go right!' I said holding her hand.

Finally he agreed so we walked out of the school. Both of them walked silently for a while.

There was a small slum on one side of the road. I stopped. Small children were playing near the hut. All those children's clothes were also completely torn. Their huts are very small! Scratches and dirt around! Bholu was also watching this scene with me as I was watching all this. I said to him - 'Bholu, do you see the house of the children playing in front?'

'Yes, sir! Looks like...' said Bholu.

'Then your house will be nicer than his house, right?' I asked.

Bholu immediately said - 'Yes, my house is much better because of it!'

'Then how happily do those children play! Does he have any complaint against God?' I said.

Bholu was silent for a while and then said - 'Yes, sir! He is very happy!'

'Then you too be happy! You don't have a house like Jackie's, but it's a better house than the one these kids play in!' I said.

'Yes, sir! It makes my house so much cooler!' Bholu said.

'Then why complain to God now? You have a nice house, don't you!' I said.

As if he understood my point, he said - 'Yes, sir! I was mistaken when I saw Jackie's house! Indeed, I have a nicer house than many others!'

Appreciating Bholu's words, I said to him - 'Then never cry again! The house that God gives to everyone is nice! No matter how nice someone else's house is, our house is still our house! Never be sad by comparing it with other's house or any other things!'

'Yes, sir! Come on, I want to go home! Mom will be waiting!' Bholu said.

'Yes, and decorate the house with glittering lamps on Diwali?' I asked.

'Yes, sir! I will also make cool rangolis and decorate the whole house with glitter leopards! Will you come and see?' Bholu is now angry. His sadness was gone.

'Yes, I will come! And Zaza will bring all the crackers for you too!' I said putting my hand on her head.

'Really? Sir!' Bholu was happy.

'Yes, indeed!' I said and he immediately latched onto me - 'Thank you, sir!'

I looked at the sky and mentally said to God - 'Send all the glittering stars to decorate Bholu's house on Diwali night, Ho!'
