- 'Low budget people are forced to compromise with the quality of serials. A few days ago I got an offer for a show. The makers of the show told me that your character has a certain budget. They do not understand what it means.'
Senior and versatile actor of TV serials Kiran Karmarkar is so much reckoned that TV show 'Spy Bahu' has come down on September 30. In the serial, Kiran played an important and interesting role of a special police officer. They say that since the script of the show was changed, I thought it would be wrapped. After a long time I got to play a role in this serial other than father, brother, father-in-law, uncle or big family mobhi. At the beginning of the show, I got the privilege of playing a challenging scene as a police officer. The show was also shot quite differently, but the script changed within a few moments. My role also became smaller and smaller and I also lost interest in it. The only thought in my mind was how many times will the show run? I am very sorry that this show, which is completely different from the typical social draw, has gone off air so early after such a good start,' says Kiranbhai with deep regret.
Revealing that the content of TV shows is being compromised these days due to low budget, the actor says, 'Low budget people are being forced to compromise with the quality of serials. A few days ago I got an offer for a show. The makers of the show told me that your character has a certain budget. They do not understand what it means. It is understandable that when you cast an actor for a show, you have a certain budget, but the budget of the characters! I get the impression that the team of the show has fixed the budget for the characters including mother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother, sister-in-law and the lead actor. I didn't feel right about it, so I didn't accept the role until I found out that the role I had turned down in the show was given to an actor who couldn't even speak his dialogues well. After giving so many years to the industry, my role is being given to an actor whose dialogues are not coming out properly. This scenario is very depressing,' laments Kiran Karmakar.
