- Indian women who have come out of the confines of Velan and chowk limited development have touched the land, sky and sea.
Indian women are being recruited in all three wings of the army. Apart from the gender discrimination in the Indian Air Force, women have also been given a place in the special force unit Garuda. Helicopter flying is also allowed.
Indian women also serve as Marine Commandos in the Special Force Marcos of the Indian Navy. Indian women have also been allowed to join the Marcos Army.
Some time ago the ratio of women to men in the Indian Army was 10:100, today it has increased to 30:100.
Indian women are playing the lion's share of development till the army. But the early days have been a tough road for Indian women who joined the army in the old-fashioned era.
Today we want to talk about one such woman, Lieutenant General Madhuri Kanitkar who became the third officer in the Indian Army. who has been the Deputy Chief Integrated the Arm Force and the Dean of the Army Medical College.
He has earned three stars as an officer in the Indian Army.
Everyone should decide their own career path, don't let another person decide their destiny. No matter how narrow the path we choose is, different from the social stereo type (cheerful) flow, but with firm will, dedication, we must achieve that goal. No other person, family or society's thoughts or any kind of fear can attack this frontier of life. Madhuri Kanitkar These were the thoughts of Army officer Kanitkar since childhood.
Madhuri Kanitkar was born in a Brahmin family in Karnataka. From childhood, Madhuri was intelligent, sharp and strong-minded. Madhuri was very fond of army uniform. I will wear it when I grow up was a firm determination of Madhuri as a child.
Madhuri became a Class 12 fifth, CBSC topper and National Science Scholar. Supposedly anyone could have gone to a good medical college in India and become a doctor and earn a fortune. But Madhuri decided to go to Army Medical College.
Madhuri's decision to choose a social career was completely different from the usual thinking doctor, engineer, CA. Hence, first of all, the challenge of opposition from parents and family stood in front of him.
No one from the family was in the military field, so the parents were reluctant, but Madhuri focused on the idea of wearing the military uniform and took admission in the Army Medical College itself.
Madhuri Kanitkar stood first in every year of medical studies. He was also foremost in other extracurricular activities. Hence he got the best student award.
While studying, Madhuri fell in love with Rajeev Kanitkar and both started married life.
Madhuri Kanitkar recalls her married life and says, We were separated for 24 years in our married life. Never came with our posting. We continued to do army jobs in different places. At that time even such technology was not developed. Hence letters were sometimes received through land line telephones. Sometimes we don't even see each other's faces for six months.
Madhuri Kanitkar used to have a lot of work at the Army Medical Hospital. In addition to the ongoing examination of children, there was also a medical examination of the soldiers. He took training as a doctor in military hospitals in Singapore and London. Lt. Mrs. Kanitaker had about 24 hours of work.
Being a doctor in a military hospital there was no gender distinction. Women doctors were not given special facilities.
Hence, when Madhuri Kanitkar's son was born, Madhuri Kanitkar started facing difficulties in medical work due to continuous separate postings of husband and wife. Hence Madhuri Kanitkar thought of quitting her job. Then husband Rajeev Kanitkar argued, 'You want to quit because you want to run away without facing challenges and lose the battle of life. What is the meaning of not wearing a uniform after studying in a military medical college and doing medical work in a hospital?' What is the difference between you and an ordinary woman? Madhuri Kanitkar's husband used to give her such military inspiration.
And that's why this inspiration earned India's first military couple both three stars.
Lt. Madhuri Kanitkar says about the current situation in the women's army that now women get opportunities in almost all positions in the three wings of the army. Only on tanks and in ground combat are women not given positions. Even the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of women and modern women play an important role in the army, from flying fighter jets. The spread of technology is also changing the social thinking of women in military operations in other countries.
Lt. Madhuri Kanitkar giving a message to women says, women are capable of every profession so choose your career and don't be afraid of the challenges ahead.
