- Only when I feel inside that this film is worth doing, I accept it. Even though I haven't got to work in zazi films yet, I don't want to waste my time doing films just for the sake of doing them.
Most artists have to wait for their talent to come to the public eye. Tripti Dimri is no exception. After entering Bollywood in 2017 with 'Poster Boys', in 2018 he got an opportunity to play the lead role in 'Laila Majnu'. Unfortunately, the film did not do well at the box office and the first grass for Tripti was a hit, but after a gap of just two years, his talent was appreciated. The 2020 super-natural thriller 'Bulbul' did wonders on OTT. Analysts and viewers praised the actress abundantly. Especially the 'talk' he did with his eyes touched everyone. Directed by Anvita Dutta and co-starring Rahul Bose, Paoli Dame, the film also earned Tripti the Best Actress award. Another film 'Kala', directed by Anvita Dutta, is also being liked by the audience. Tripti has played the title role in it. Alas, Kangana Ranaut has also praised her performance. She wrote on social media that I couldn't take my eyes off this movie. Kangana has also praised Tripti's co-star Babil Irrfan Khan. This is the debut film of Babil.
Tripti Rajini is red to work with Anvita for the second time in 'Kala'. He says, 'Working with Anvita feels amazing. It gives enough leeway to artists to work in their own way. Actors' creativity comes out automatically as the actors get to play their characters in their own way after being given a script. Even during the workshops, instead of asking the actors to act out the scenes, Anvita asks them to discuss the scene and gives priority to their opinion.'
In 'Kala', the story of Kala Manjushree, a popular singer of the 1930-40s, has been presented. Anvita Dutta was not the only reason why Tripti jumped at the chance to do this movie as soon as she got the offer. He also liked the screenplay very much. He says, 'Only when I feel inside that this film is worth doing, I accept it. Even though I haven't got to work in zaazi films yet, I don't want to waste my time doing films just for the sake of doing them and I don't want to be dishonest with my craft. Of course, I am not saying that I am not interested in being famous. When I entered the industry, I was definitely very interested in being famous. Actually I didn't know much about this line at that time. A friend of mine named Avinash Tiwari recommended joining an acting workshop. Well, a lot has changed since then. I realized what acting is all about. Just standing in front of the camera is not acting. I also realized that to get fame you have to act your best.'
Tripti was disappointed after 'Laila Majnu' did not get the expected response at the box office. He says, 'It was difficult for me to get another movie as that film did not work, but now I am moving forward slowly. I have finished shooting for Anand Tiwari's untitled film with Vicky Kaushal. I am also doing Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' with Ranbir Kapoor.'
Both these films are important. After the rise in demand for OTT, actors are constantly comparing 70mm screen and OTT. Tripti finds this quite natural. He says, 'Both mediums are important in their own place. In fact, now a scenario has arisen where both media are walking hand in hand. Despite this, many people are still infatuated with the 70 mm screen. The big screen is nothing but fun. When I said yes to 'Bulbul' to be released on OTT after 'Laila Majnu', many people told me that I was making a huge mistake, but I did not underestimate the value of OTT. I knew that both mediums had prominent viewers. As of today, the importance of working in both is equal.'
All the best, Tripti.
