As the name of the supercomputers goes, there is an image in the brain that contains large computers and cabinets connected to thousands of wires. But as the name implies, these computers are like superheroes for the world. That is why in the present time all the countries of the world are in the race to build supercomputers. It is important in terms of science and technology. There are approximately 12 world-class supercomputers in India. It is used to design a car, to estimate the environment and to invent a new drug. All developed and developing countries spend money on water to produce supercomputers to prove themselves technically strong.
Recently an organization that annually announces the world's fastest supercomputers statistics. According to this figure, the largest number of supercomputers in the United States is 42%. India accounts for 2% of its participation. This is exactly the case with countries like Russia and South Korea, but India lags behind China.
Super computers needed
Supercomputers are not the only force in the technical field for a country. It also has to do with the progress of the country. Where large quantities of calculus is required, supercomputers are used only. like..
Meteorological Department: Supercomputers are important in predicting the environment as well as natural disasters because they have large computations.
Medical field: In the field of medicine it is used in various disease related research. For example it was used in the modeling of swine flu.
In Industries: Supercomputers help discover new sources of oil and gas. It also helps in product design and modeling of machines.
Security: Supercomputers help to process data in nuclear testing, missile launch etc.
There are 11 supercomputers in India
India has 11 supercomputers in the list of the world's most powerful 500 supercomputers. Two of them are in the top 100. While in America it is 233. Indian software engineers are working in organizations all over the world, but India is still technically behind it. The cause is also believed to be budget deficits. Government of India launched National Supercomputing Mission in March. It plans to build 73 new supercomputers across the country within 7 years. A budget of 4500 crore has been allocated for this mission. 600 crore will come with electricity bill.
How does a supercomputer work?
According to the general definition of a computer, it gives any data and it processes and gives output. In a normal computer, only one process can be performed at a time. While supercomputers can process hundreds of millions of calculations that are difficult at the same time. It has thousands of processors working together. So it's too big. The construction of the supercomputer began in the year 1960.
