The National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) has released 2015-17 figures. However, the NCRB considered the data sent late by the state to be released in 2017 figures.
According to the report, there are 11,592 cybercrimes across the country between 2015-17. In 2015, there were 11,331 cases in the country, 12,187 in 2016 and 21,593 cybercrime offenses in 2017.
The NCRB has released cybercrime statistics statewide according to which the highest number of cybercrime cases in 2015 was 2,208 in Uttar Pradesh. Now if you talk about mobile theft and laptop theft, understand that there are 117.9 crore mobile thefts across the country. Take a look at the statistics.
According to the NCRB report, 1,04,626 incidents of mobile theft were reported in 2017. The stolen phone is valued at Rs 117.9 crore. Of these, 16,252 phones were seized and worth Rs 22 crore.
In the year 2017, 1,28,491 electronics gadgets have been reported stolen which cost Rs 185.8 crore. 21,923 were found in stolen electronic gadgets valued at Rs 39.5 crore.
