Ethiopia's Danakill Depression field laboratory is considered to find out how life on Earth must have been and how much life is possible on a planet like Mars. We are experiencing winter but this is not the winter season here
Seeing the natural scenery of the Northern Lights in many places full of wonders in the world is a privilege, but in the Afar Region of Ethiopia in North Africa, the Danaakil Depression seems to be the place of alienation on earth. In the last few years, in addition to researchers, the general public has also become interested in learning about it. Videos of the blazing lava flowing into the water of this place also go viral.
The Danaquill field laboratory is considered to know how life on earth must have been and how much life is possible on a planet like Mars. Different parts of the earth experience the winter summer season as the temperature changes during the year, as we are currently experiencing winter, but we never experience winter in the Danaquill Depression area.
The average annual temperature for this hottest and hottest place in the world is around 3-4 degrees Celsius. The average temperature of these places on earth is also not as high as the summer temperature record. Rainfall in the area is about 3 to 5 millimeters after the summer.
In geoscience, this area is very important for discovery and exploration. In the year 8, a scientist named Donald Jensen and his team discovered the skeleton of the human species, Australopithecus, considered to be the oldest ancestor of humans. This place is also the first destination of human life on earth, given the skeletons of many species found before today's man.
Surprisingly, researchers at the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology recently discovered that life in the Geo thermal field of the Danaquil Desert is not possible as high levels of alkaline in the saline and ultra-acidic lakes go below their pH. In the past, many researchers have researched the potential for survival.
The Danaquill Depression is 3 meters below sea level. Its underground three tectonic plates collide with each other and move about 3 centimeters away each year. Millions of years after seeing it, this place will have a big pit that is supposed to be filled with sea water. Here three continental plates of Earth collide with each other, emitting flames and heat from the Earth's crust. There are two volcanoes that are constantly active, one of which is named Dallol and the other is Esta Eley. The top of the Esta Ale volcanic lava is always flowing.
Here, the lava can be seen frozen in a ditch. Temperatures continue to rise due to constant volcanoes and active volcanoes. Researchers wear masks because of the high volume of gas in the area, such as chlorine and hydrogen sulfide. Delol is a unique terrestrial hydrothermal system known for its mineral samples and dissolved acidic liquids. The area around Delol is considered to be the driest area on earth.
The Danakill Depression is a dangerous place to live around, although a few miles away there are some Afar community loaf species. The habit of being hungry and thirsty has fallen because of the hardships these people have endured over centuries of food and water. This humanitarian society, which is one of the hardest hit in the world, can starve for hours or days. A little further away from the depression, the river named Awash flows. This river is a source of drinking water.
The river does not meet the sea as it passes through the Danaakil depression. It is also a source of hot water, which dries as soon as it comes out. Minerals are found frozen in the dry stretch of the river Avash when extreme heat starts. People from the Afar community find small stones in them and look for precious minerals.
With the help of camels and donkeys, a two-week path is cut to sell stone in the city. There is a large market for these Danaquill Depression precious stones in Macle, Ethiopia. Naturally prepared stone is found in the Danaquill area. Salt stones are one of the main sources of employment in the sale of carving.
Extremely captivating motifs are formed when minerals coming from a volcano mix with water. A bright yellow color is seen when sulfur and sodium with high levels of acid are mixed with each other, while copper and sodium are mixed with each other.

Due to the variable oxidation of the inorganic Aryan, the color of this space changes from white to light green to yellow and red. In addition to research institutes looking for the most rare and hard-to-find places on earth, adventure travelers are also interested in the Danaquill Depression. Adventurous tourists continue to capture hundreds of photos of the area. The Danaquill Depression is an aquatic environment where many do not even address it as an alien land, as there are no organisms.
