The festival of Capricorn is coming soon. On the day of Capricorn transition, bathing, donating and meditating are important. On this day the sun enters Capricorn. On the day of Makar Sankranti, devotees bathe in places like Gangasagar, Varani, Triveni Sangam.
It is believed that the person who bathes the Ganges on the day of Makar Sankranti is relieved. Bathing the Ganges on this day yields double the fruit. At which place on this day, bathing the Ganges is liberated from sin.
Ganges Sea
Bathing on Makar Sankranti day in the Ganges Sea of West Bengal is of special importance. It is believed that a devotee bathes in the Ganges Sea. He gets the same fruit by donating 10 Ashwamedh Yajna and one thousand cows.
Prayagraj
A royal bath is organized every year at Makar Sankranti on Triveni Sangam Prayagraj. In Prayagraj, bathing on the day of Makarasankranti is considered the best, because here the three rivers Yamuna, Ganges and Saraswati merge.
Kashi
Kashi is considered as one of the oldest cities in Indian culture. It is said that the person who does not come to Kashi comes after death. Every year, on the day of Capricorn, millions of devotees bathe in the Ganges Ghat of Kashi. The Khichdi Festival is celebrated on this day at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Haridwar
Haridwar is considered as the holy place of Hinduism. It is believed that bathing the Ganges in Haridwar on the day of Makar Sankranti liberates from all sins. Every year on the day of Makar Sankranti, special fairs are organized in Haridwar in which millions of devotees from across the country participate.
