Corona virus does not affect the unborn baby, Exploring discovery

Beijing, 23 February 2020, Sunday

Fatal coronavirus does not affect the baby growing in the mother's womb. Researchers know this fact in a new study. According to a research published in the journal The Lancet, there is currently no evidence that COVD19 causes serious adverse consequences in newborns or may infect a pregnant baby.

A new research also revealed that the symptoms of Covid 19 infection in pregnant women were similar to those of non-pregnant female adults. None of the women was infected with severe pneumonia or died. This new research comes at a time when the newborn baby is infected with coronavirus 36 hours after birth. This raises the question of whether the disease can spread from pregnant mother to child?

"Many important details of this case are missing, and for this reason, we cannot conclude from this one case," said Yuanjin Zhang, a leading author at Zhejiang Hospital, Wuhan University, China. However, mothers infected with coronavirus need to pay special attention to how to protect the unborn child.
