After waiting for a long time, the rupee transactions in WhatsApp will finally start in India. In February 2018, a Facebook-owned WhatsApp company developed the UPI based payment system and began to use it for a million people. But then with the government's insistence that users' data should remain in India, the idea of launching this feature for all users of WhatsApp fell short.
According to the news now available, WhatsApp has received the final approval required by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) of India. Now WhatsApp will start the payment facility for all users in phases.
Under the UPI system, when we connect our bank account to such a service, we have a virtual UPI ID ready like an e-mail address. The procedure for this will be found in the settings of WhatsApp, following this, our UPI ID will be ready, but in the case of WhatsApp, we do not have to exchange this ID with the person in front of us to receive or send the amount.
Since each user's ID is connected to his mobile number, everyone who creates his UPI ID on WhatsApp will be able to exchange Rs. That is, instead of sending us a Good Morning message in the morning, we can start a chat in WhatsApp, select the option of 'Payment' and send us Rs. Our Morning can be really good!
To check if this feature has been added to your WhatsApp, open the WhatsApp app, click on the three dots at the top right. The 'Payments' option can be seen here now or shortly. If found, you can create a UPI account in WhatsApp using your bank's debit card.
In India, Google Pay, PhonePay, Paytm etc have long been available with UPI based payment facility and its use is increasing steadily, but WhatsApp Payment is determined to give them all a tremendous competition as WhatsApp has already been woven into our lives and given Rs. It's just as easy to send a message.
It is important to remember that this arrangement will be safe according to the rules of NPCI and Reserve Bank of India, but if we do not understand its analogy properly, we will easily fall victim to WhatsApp fraud. If you do not understand the UPI system correctly then do not connect your main bank account to WhatsApp this way.
