Mahabali Hanumanji was a devotee of Shriram. He placed his Ishtidev in his heart. But Mahabali Hanuman also had to fight with his God. The cause of this war was King Yayati. According to Harivansh Puran, Yayati was angry with her older son and cursed him that he would never receive the title of king. Yayati chose her younger son Puru for the throne. But lawmakers protested for the politician's son.
On the other hand, according to the order of Maharishi Viswamitra, Lord Sriram was to kill King Yayati. To avoid this crisis, Yayati used cleverness and reached Hanumanji's refuge. Mother Anjani promised to protect her. But Hanumanji understood too. Hanumanji decided that he would not take up arms.
Hanuman ji started chanting Ramanaam. All those who fired arrows at Sriram used to be inactive. Viswamitra was also surprised to see Mahabali Hanuman's piety. Respecting the battle between the servant and the lord, Maharishi decided to find his way. Vishwamitra gave life to Yayati and told Sriram to stop the war. Thus the devotee and the word of God were also ashamed.
