- 'Shri Lalitambakam'
In other words, by reciting Sahastra of 'Shri Lalitamba' on the night of Purnima, my happiness and full grace descends. In the scriptures, Jagat Janani is called Sharad Purnima Sami Chhaya Dhari Shitalkari. Purnima means -
Perfection, Purna-Shata is why Maa Ambaji has been seated as the lord of the lunar system. Amba means 'Mother' and that is why complete devotion to Shakti is found in the completed Navali Norta. That means the festival of Sharad Purnima is coming.
In another sense, Raseshwari's Raslila's Rasotsav means 'Sharad Purnima'.
If we look at the meaning of 'Rasalila', then Rasbharya Kunda means 'Ra' Ras 'Lee' means to be absorbed and to manifest 'La'. The name of the one who gives the feeling of Purnananda, who breaks the price, is Ras. ‘Rasotsav’ is in fact an incomparably wonderful, supernatural, aikotsav. One who unites with God the Father through pure love.
'Rasalila' means the tide of unbroken bliss and the ascension of the self. Raseshwar created this juicy rasa rasa to break the bonds of the body, to feel pure love and to awaken the ami fountain of rasa-rasa from within, by which human beings are given an excellent opportunity to be freed from innate instinct-nature-activity and distortion. And at the same time paved the way for the practical as well as the spiritual upliftment of turning from degeneration to ascension, i.e. waiting for man.
During the Mauryan dynasty, this autumn festival was celebrated as Kaumudi Mahotsav which is described in a play called Mudrarakshas. Thus Sharad Purnima is a celebration of awakening, natural splendor and joy.
