Marble gorge of Narmada of Bhedaghat

Narmada is one of the largest rivers in India. Drainage of Narmada water flowing in the mountains has created deep ravines. These ravines in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are wonderful, while the marble ravines at Bhedaghat in Madhya Pradesh are worth seeing.

At Bhedaghat in Jabalpur district, there are marble caves, Dhunadhar Falls and the temple of Choshat Jogani. Built in the 10th century, this temple has 3 Jogani stone idols. Smoke billows from Dhunadhar Falls. On a moonlit night, boating in the Narmada amidst the deep white marbles of marble is a delight. Many of the films feature beautiful scenes of sheepfolds. Surprisingly, the flow of Narmada flowing in Bhedaghat becomes so narrow at one place that a monkey can jump over the ravine on both sides. This place is called 'Bandar Kudni'.

Sheep grooves are made of magnesium and are soft and easy to carve. There are some Assamese colored marble ravines.
