Enlightening Khadakatha: Guru Amardasji is the third Guru of the Sikhs

'From today, this Amru is not an orphan, but a Sanath. He has followed Seva Dharma with such devotion that he will be the only heir to the throne of Sikh Gurus!

It is said in English: 'Real life begins at the age of forty.'

Sayings like 'Life Begins at Forty' are also in their language.

But Guru Amardasji has lived a life that teaches English.

Guru Amardasji is the third Guru of the Sikhs.

But before becoming a guru, Amardasji was nothing. Only Amar or Amru were there.

Throughout his life he made efforts to acquire knowledge on his own. But he did not get any knowledge till the age of sixty two. Or say that he was not satisfied with the knowledge he got.

At the age of sixty-two, a good human being becomes old, weak and helpless, but Amardas did not become helpless.

As soon as he realized that 'there is no knowledge without a Guru', he approached Guru Angaddev in the sixty-second year and said: 'Make me your disciple.'

Guruji was happy to get this child of sixty two years with other children and Amardas started working like a young man.

He took up all the tasks assigned to him by Guruji to acquire knowledge. Served Guruji immensely for three years. Guruji would quickly finish all the work of Amardas Guru himself so that he could get married soon.

One of the tasks was to fetch water from the river. If Guruji goes to the river and comes back, it will take a long time, so Amardas would get up early and fill a big pitcher and fetch water from the Beas river.

One day early in the morning, when Amardas was coming, his foot fell into the pit. The pit belonged to a weaver. The weavers made pits there to keep their clothes.

Early in the morning, when the sound of someone falling came, Wankar asked: 'Who fell?'

The weaver's wife replied: 'Who else? That orphan will be Amru! He has been running around in the middle of the night to serve the Guru! '

Orphan Amru!

What an address!

Yet Amardas got up. Ran to the river again. Filled the pot again and bathed Guruji.

When Guruji heard this, he said in the presence of everyone, including the weavers: 'From today, this Amru is not an orphan, but a Sanath. He has followed Seva Dharma with such devotion that he will be the only heir to the throne of Sikh Gurus! Only such a human being who strives for knowledge deserves to be a Guru and only such a diligent Guru can show people the right path. '

Thus after sixty-two years he started service, labor and education and became the third Sikh Guru Amardasji from Amru Amardas.

Even today, the pit is reserved in the huge Gurudwara. Along with the Guru, the pit that imparts knowledge is also worshiped today.
