'Lagan' and 'Ghadar' still ring in people's hearts

- Even after two decades

Two decades ago, in the old month, two historical films were released in Indian cinema around the world - 'Lagan' and 'Ghadar'. Both these films have made many new histories and have become such a place in the minds of the viewers that even today after 40 years no one has forgotten its dialogues, songs, acting of the actors and camera work. Both these films are calming the hearts of the people of Lilicham Vanraji Sami. Of course, this has happened before and will continue to happen tomorrow, but KDs like 'Lagan' and 'Ghadar' can hardly be broken.

First of all let's talk about 'Lagaan'. 'Lagaan', produced by actor Aamir Khan and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, will be Aamir Khan's first film, for which he did not make any pre-arrangements for acting. At the end of the film, it is said, 'Aur bhuvan ka naam itihas ke panno mein kahi kho gaya ..' Released on June 19, 2001, this film is truly thrilling to remember in twenty years. "Lagaan was already a heavy film and there was no time to discuss my character," says Aamir. So we met the night before the shooting and I asked Ashu, you spent time with all the actors, but Mere didn't even sit with me once. I began to think that what I said was right. However I had to do all the preparation for my character. We didn't even talk about how Bhuvan is. Fortunately, we were both in the same situation when we sat down to talk. '

Got less time to prepare for the role in this film? Answering such a question, Aamir says, "Of course, I didn't have time for my role in 'Lagaan' as I was busy working as a producer." This was my first film as a producer. I made sure I didn't go wrong, and I kept busy. So 'Lagaan' was mostly a pre-prepared film for me. '

Even so, Aamir had full faith in Ashutosh. About his screenplay, his ability as a director. "After a few shots of the film, Ashu told me that the film is going well. Bhuvan also looks like another villager. At that time I told him that 'the condition is accepted.' He was a leader and everyone followed him. This impression of Ashu had a profound effect on me. '

Regarding the casting of the cast, Aamir Khan says, "The role of Bhura is played by Raghuveer Yadav who was earlier offered to Ravi Baswani, but his mother was ill and could not devote so many days to the film." I still miss Raveen. It would have been really wonderful if he had played that role. ' Then adds again, 'Raghubir Singh was cast for the role of Ram Singh who was the translator of Rani. When Ravi refused, we asked him to play Bhura's part and gave Javed Khan the role of Ram Singh. '

When offered a remake of this film - Aamir said, 'Why not? I am not very passive about this matter. Why stop them if the creative wants to do so. I will not stop them. It will be more interesting to see his work, ”said Aamir.

On the other hand, director Ashutosh Gowariker says, "It is a great thing that 'Lagaan' has been selected for the Oscar nomination. This was India's third film. Earlier, it was 'Mother India' (19) and 'Sanlam Bombay' (19). Many songs and dances were also chosen. ' "Yes, it is a matter of pride for mainstream Indian film to reach the global platform in a new era," said Ashutosh for the Oscar nomination.

Thus, when 'Lagaan' made history, Anil Sharma's film 'Ghadar' was not far behind. Starring Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel, the film had more theaters across India than 'Lagaan' and both the films made new history in terms of popularity. The way Sunny Deol pulled the water pump from the ground in 'Ghadar' is a feat that people loved and even today his memory is fresh in people's minds.

The film 'Ghadar' has proved to be an all-time blockbuster. It did so much business in India, but even in the United States, the film made crores of rupees.

The full names of these two films are 'Lagaan ઃ Once Upon a Time in India' and 'Ghadar ઃ A Love Story'. It is true that these two films are still as alive in the minds of people today as they were two decades ago.
