Jain rule is a mine of rare gems. There have been great men in Jain rule whose lives, when we know about them, make us wonder how much work these great men must have done to make their lives better.

One such great man is present today at the age of 101 in the state of Jain Sadhu. And in addition to their daily religious activities, they do penance etc. themselves. He still speaks without anyone's support. When someone comes to a religious discussion, he boldly says that all my five senses are proven. You don't have to advise me. Today, about 1000 monks and nuns perform Atmasadhana under his umbrella.

This great man is presently sitting in Katraj Tirth on Bombay-Pune Highway and his auspicious name is Om Pujya Acharya Shri Dolat Sagarsurishwarji Maharaj.

I got the benefit of seeing them in Mumbai many years ago. In the year 9, a huge controversy arose in the Jain Sangh. At that time Pujya Acharya Shri Ramsurishwarji Dahelawala, Pujya Acharya Shri Premsurishwarji Maharaj, Pujya Acharya Shri Dolatsagar Surishwarji Maharaj, Pujya Acharya Shri Durlabhasagarsurishwarji Maharaj etc. Understand that a small sage convention has taken place. At that time a few leaders came and started giving wisdom, started giving advice to all Acharya Maharajas. Then I remember exactly that, Pujay Dolatsagarsurishwarji Maharaj fired everyone in one fell swoop. He said that we have not all played Manjira for so many years. We too are devoted servants of God. We will do exactly what we have to do and all of them have really run away.

Pujya Dolat Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj lived for nine years under the patronage of Pujya Anand Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj, a great man who has tried his best to save Agam in the Jain Sangh and he has built many Agam temples after receiving the rites of Agam Bhakti from Teoshri. He has built 21 Barsasutra temples with his inspiration. Today, his initiation is almost 3 years old. The body is perfectly healthy. No disease, no medicine, how to sit without support, how to do one's work without any support even in walking?

The Jain regime believes that this happens in the life of a person who observes pure restraint.

He is born Patel. He is a native of Jetpur village near Mehsana. There is not a single Jain house in that village. But due to some pre-birth rites, Jain sage was introduced and initiated. And today he is the Gachchadhipati of Sagargachchh and the leader of the Pravarasamiti of the Jain Sangh is Acharya Shri. He has built a magnificent Jinalaya of Shri Munisuvrat Swami Bhagwan in his village and in a village where there is not a single Jain house, many people worship the Lord today.

The monks and nuns who come to pay homage to him. He punishes them with penance and renunciation. All the sadhus and sadhvis in their abode always perform small and big penances regularly. The monk who comes asks what you have done today and the monk is ashamed if he has not done any penance and starts small and big penances from the next day.

They ask all the monks and nuns who come to meet them, are you studying? And it makes the sadhu-sadhviji study with such a small inspiration.
