Here is an illustration:
A king ruled in a town. Obey the people well. Take care of all for the welfare of the people. The people were also happy but there was a law in that state that no matter how good the king was, he should be put in the forest after ruling for five years. This is a tradition. Even the king was fed by the wild beasts of the forest. The people did not believe in any change in this practice.
But at one point a king was elected. He knew this. But was himself intelligent. So he went to the forest in front of the state and cut down the forest and built big palaces there. Built his own palace. He had all the power and wealth. The servants were servants. So he built a new town in the forest. Furniture, wealth settled there. The men of the town were taken there and settled.
When the time of this king was over, he too was thrown into the forest by the people. But this time he did not have to hunt wild animals like other kings. For him a huge fan base, people, servants, abundant wealth etc. were present. He became the king of this forest and lived a comfortable life.
This is an illustration. Its spiritual point is that this being has been destroying this body by suffering the pains of hell for eternity. Birth and death have suffered immensely. He could not sit still. Also, if he is born and thinks of the hereafter and starts working from now on, his world will improve but he will be able to live in peace in the hereafter which is the abode of God.
In this birth, live according to the promise of God and the scriptures, follow the rules and religion, be careful in eating and drinking. Do's and don'ts. Try to avoid or suppress your inner enemy. Does charity. Serve society and family members, serve parents, serve the nation. To reach the abode of the Lord, the Lord remembers and builds the pattern of virtue. Try to please the Lord. Serve the saints-devotees. So with all these collaborative efforts, his meritorious deeds are bound and when the Lord is pleased with the glory of that merit, the Lord comes to reality to take that life to His abode and make him attain his abode. The pain of the crucifixion is thorny. It keeps you happy in this world but also improves the hereafter.
Only resort to atheism or Charvakaism to live only for nourishment. Do not keep any of God's promises. There is a lot of sadness in this world of people who behave as expected. Material happiness alone is not important. The aura of divine happiness is something aneri. In our Hindu culture, the commands that God has given through the scriptures are for the well-being of life and for the betterment of this world and the hereafter. According to his promise, if the life goes on, he will never have any trouble and the life will be happy.
