Variations in bird foot design

Birds flying in this light have to walk and run on the ground in search of food. The body of a bird is flexible and light to fly but its legs are strong and special. The bird has to sleep on a thin branch or wire so it has spring-like muscles in its legs which are tightened by body weight and fall even if the bird is asleep. Not going

The legs of the bird are thin and light. Birds like Chakli, Kabar, Bulbul walk with both legs raised. Birds like herons, ducks, hawks, if they want to find fish in the reservoir, their legs become longer and they walk lightly in coats.

The bird has four toes. Three short fingers at the front and one at the back. Birds of prey have sharp claws. A woodpecker's climbing and sitting on a tree trunk means its nails are as sharp as a hook. Swimming a duck in the water means that its fingers are attached to the thin skin and become like oars.

The toes of the bird can only bend downwards and not upwards so it is difficult to walk on the ground. Instead of walking, some birds flutter their wings and fly short distances. When flying, the bird's legs are straight at the back, so there is less air friction.
