Recently, the United Nations IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has issued a 'Code Red Alert' report. The world renowned scientists / experts in the IPCC panel including Meteorological Expert with the findings have warned that the consequences of climate change include Global Warning, sea level rise, tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, catastrophes. Heavy rains, melting glaciers - Land Sliding etc. are said to have a devastating effect. Human Influence has been blamed for influencing all of this. The development factor, the industrialization, the use of disproportionate technology, the materialism that has created the prevailing state of mankind in human development, and these changes have been seen for more than three decades. The seasons have changed. Developed countries are also vulnerable to various hurricanes. Even if we take the example of the current Kovid-2017, the entire human race has failed at one stage to face this epidemic.
The United Nations (UNO) plays the role of advisor and co-ordinator as an important organ in matters pertaining to the whole world which touches the existence of mankind, but the main objectives of this organization formed after the Second World War are neglected by the superpowers due to their economic power. At one time a country like America was not ready to sign the Kyoto Protocol. Even today, no measures are taken to maintain the level of carbon emissions, so the Earth's crust and temperature are many times higher.
The most damaging factors to the environment include coal based thermal power stations along with hazardous and obnoxious industries. The way coal is used as fossil fuel, the way it has to rely on coal-fired power plants to generate surplus electricity to meet the demands of development and industrialization is a matter of concern for the whole world. Conventions make resolutions and treats but do not actually implement them. So that day by day mankind suffers from the side effects of climate change described above. After all, with the existence of human coexistence, trees, plants, animals, birds, animals that are a part of human life. Part and Parcel are also sacrificed in its destructive form. The word "transition action" is used in the report submitted by the IPCC of the UN, which is why the launch of a separate Ministry of Climate Change or the publication of reports / books based on it does not take the concrete steps that should be taken to maintain natural balance. Solid measures to change the situation. This includes different stakeholders. In which the governments of that country, the legal entities enforcing the legal provisions, the autonomous body that constantly monitors the action plan and finally the citizens are also important organs.
According to the report, two feet of sea level will rise by 30-40 and even big cities will be submerged. These include Kandla, Okha and Bhavnagar in Gujarat and Bhavnagar will be worst affected, according to a NASA report.
Analyzing the side effects of climate change from our country's perspective, the last three decades have seen heavy floods, droughts, tsunamis, earthquakes, rising temperatures, changes in the seasons, glaciers melting, land sliding, additional adverse effects on pollution. The Central Pollution Control Board and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board as well as the Environment Protection Act were enacted to cover not only wildlife but also air, water and noise pollution, but without much success.
Pollution from coal-fired power plants and the use of fossil fuels from natural resources have not changed much. At present, special attention is being paid to Solar Energy as an unconventional energy, but as expected, the installed power of Solar Energy has not yet increased.
The development process needs to be accompanied by a concrete action plan budget financial provisions to maintain the balance of the environment in infrastructure due to highways, roads as well as industrial and especially urbanization. If we want to take the example of one country, it is Bhutan. The main objective of this country is not to center any kind of development against the welfare of the citizens. Happiness of Citizen is Prime motto in Bhutan - Let's hope that all the countries of the world take the warning of 'Code Red' given by the United Nations seriously and the quality of life will be maintained if global citizens also take active part in meeting the challenges of human existence.
