What happens to the body of water we drink?

This is how we drink water after a meal. We also drink water several times a day when we feel thirsty. Thus we put more water into the body than food. What does all this water do in the body? And you may be wondering what happens to it. Food provides us with nutrients.

All these substances need water to be transported to different organs in the body. The water in the stomach mixes with the food to make it semipermeable and pushes it into the digestive tract. Water is also needed to keep blood in liquid form. Thus excreted in the form of sweat or urine.

Water does not carry out any chemical process in the body but is useful in carrying different substances. Water is a simple substance that stays liquid up to 100 centigrade heat. So it can dissolve most of the foods in itself so it is very useful in the body. Water is also needed to keep the body flexible as well as to maintain temperature.
